One of the first things I noticed when trying out the new origin is that a lot of the dialogue was clearly written in a time when it wasn't possible for the player's empire to have grown up in the shadow of a giant alien space lizard. All of the pop-ups about finding alien life for the first time really don't make any sense in light of that fact, but you know what that's fine, who even reads those after the first time anyway. There was one example that I did find slightly disappointing though:

Like, are you sure we've never encountered anything like this at all? Really? You can't think of any examples of encountering anything even remotely similar to this? Like, say, the same but blue?

Why do you make it appear like there is any relation between the two? One is a blue colossal space dragon from outer space, the other is a red colossal space dragon from outer space. They have nothing on common at all :p

Jokes aside, yeah, i think the game should acknowledge that. It's like going Shattered Ring Origin and then scientist wondering how a ring world can exists. At least on that case it can be explained by telling they are sphere earth believers :p

Strangely enough other origins where you already encountered aliens like Common Ground do remove the pop-ups about finding alien life. I guess the devs forgot to do the same for Here Be Dragons.

EDIT: You know what really disappointed me? That attacking the dragon didn't result in an instant loss and an event mocking you for doing something so stupid.

Even though it's meant as a joke I could see the origin dragon not be considered alien in a people's subjective view. It's been there for all of recorded history presumably and it's just too familiar and "native".

As for finding other space dragons out there...yeah.
