DH stopped working

This is a strange one. I have Windows 10, but as far as I remember DH used to work OK. Now (after a Windows 10 patch/upgrade/however you call it with operating systems as well as a Steam upgrade) it keeps crashing during loading with no explanation. From what I have seen on Steam community comments, I am far from the only one with that problem. Any ideas what might be happening?


EDIT: Apparently verifying cache and using launcher directly from the folder helps, but it has a side effect of the current game version being identified in the launcher as ?,?,?.

Which is weird because it don´t have any issues with the latest AMD GPU Driver

Well... that is very strange. since driver 17.3 everything with HOI II (AOD, CORE, DH, ...) stopped working and i am not the only one... - other games no problem..

It seems that everything get stuck at the opening 'video'...

On the positive side : i bought HOI IV when it came available and now i am finally looking into it

I have this exact same problem, DH has always worked for me but suddenly it CTD's after i hit play from the launcher or jusst start from the app itself. I've tried everything in the "How To Fix DH with Windows 8.1" thread and still nothing works. I don't know what else to do.

I tried it ... still no luck but the error is different (now i get an 'exception error') - tried it in different versions of the game.

We confirmed that there´s a problem between the latest AMD GPU Driver and Windows 10, something we can´t fix ourselves. Downgrading to an older Version helps though

I do not believe it is windows 10... There are also players with windows 7 with the same problem, but all with amd graphics...

Same here. CTD after selecting country and then START. Always worked before but not anymore. I have Nvidia but I don't think the graphics card have anything to do with it. Tried dfferent resolutions but that did not help either. A real shame since HOI IV did not reach my expectations....

I do believe it has to do with graphics... i have read reports about people downgrading to driver 17.2 makes aod, dh, ... working again...
About Nvidia if i read this right it is a different ctd... amd graphics wont even go passed intro...

I downgraded myself to 16.7.2 (amd graphic drivers) and can now confirm that this makes it working again.
