Devs reading threads

I have a suggestion for the forum that might help most OP feel that there thread has bin read least once by a DEV. Not that you guys and galls are bad at reading the forum. You spend nice amount of time whits the community and that am I and other happy about. Continue that good work.

After reading Wiz thread about he mark read thread by pressing "Helpful" button...

... And I guess he stop doing that for just forgetting he should do that or he did it so it did not send wrong messages to OP. Any how...

So to the suggestion. Have number just below buttons for "Helpful/Agree/Respectfully disagree" that automatically counts every DEV that open that thread. Exampel text, "# PDX employs have read this thread". The text does not need tell whits PDXers have read it just that someone have read it.

Yeah... I don't see that working well. I do see it fanning the flames and honestly not giving the OP any actual useful information. And I am sure that having their every move tracked on the forum and then discussed and theorized by the users is a great way to lower dev willingness to participate in the community.

You lift valid point. Did not mean that every message should have this counter or messages that a Dev or Dev(s) have read it once, just on OP first messages. And was mostly for suggestion sub forums I wanted it for. But any how your point is valid regardless of limit of the "devs have notice your thread" messages.

I am really happy that PDX employees are on the forum. That gives both the forum and the PDX in general huge amount of credibility when comes to games.

I agree with mr capiatlist. There's no way such a counter would not just lead to bickering and less dev involvement in the fora.
And for it to work properly you'd need to state how deep a thread had been loaded by a dev which just would make it worse.

Frankly the bickering over devs already is problematic with regard to having a good, enjoyable environment where the devs want to spend their time reading the fora. We don't need to make that worse.

That thread was unstickied when Wiz was no longer on EU4. Me and Jake have taken up the practice again but of course only for the EU4 suggestions forum (which is the only place it ever applied to).
