Would I be correct in assuming you'll also have "Descended From X" traits, so races can skip generations?
I think we've tossed around several ideas on how to handle this, none of which would require an additional trait taking up space. I'll see if I can get this sorted out so we can decide what works best and maybe do some testing.
Another issue that's come up: as UIs are virtually 0% moddable at present, I'm having to use vanilla names for religion groups in the code (made poni in localization, of course) so that everyone isn't the same generic Christian UI. As you might imagine, this makes religions I do this for DLC-dependant.
So, I'd like to know: how would people feel about two slight variations of the mod? Extra flavor if one has the proper DLC(s), and one where everyone gets the same look but only requires the base game.
Better yet, I'm actually more concerned if DLC requirements are even much of a concern among most of you following this mod. Thus far we've chosen to err on the side of caution and keep things vanilla-friendly, but some features go a bit beyond 'flavor' and can be a bit immersion-breaking to some people... like Earth being an elective monarchy rather than a proper republic, so as not to limit people without that DLC from playing one of the mod's three core nations.
I will, however, make one thing clear: even if we were to make two slight variations of the mod for the time being, this would likely be limited to the UI differences mentioned at the beginning of my rant here. Including further features (such as actually making Earth a republic) in the +UI version would only further serve to make the non-DLC crowd feel left out (and, I'd imagine, a bit miffed at that point), which we are not in favor of. Aesthetic differences only here.
But enough from me. Let's see y'all liven up this thread again and give me your two cents.
