This is how \db\difficulty.csv looked in set 15 and ever since 2006. For set 16 i removed the penalties for the human player at hard and very hard. That way the human player can play just as at normal, but with a more challenging AI.

For symmetry i might also reduce the penalty for AI at easy and very easy. That would make sense. At easy and very easy the game will be more forgiving, but not hurt AI directly. At hard and very hard the game would be more challanging, but it would not hurt the human player directly.

I think its meant to be him, but he has been dead for almost two years when AOD starts in 36. Its not rare that hoi2 has long dead leaders, but we should remove that from the majors powers later.

I am not sure playthroughs from before set 16 hold much value.

Set 16 comes with a changed paradigma. Daily manpower gain has been increased by 50% to 0.01(national) and 0.001(nonnational). Those are the values Doomsday had used back in the day. Also factory construction is much higher. By Danzig the UK has 250 base ic, Germany 350 base ic and the USA 450 base ic. By Barbarrossa Germany has 500 base ic, the USA 600 base ic and soviet union 350 base ic.

I added a new event that by default makes japan liberate U87. There are many pros and cons to this. Japan mitigating the troops it deploys to this front by almost 50% is one of the arguments against it. But the front is at least stable enough and 2 years after liberation U87 becomes relevant enough to help out japan at that front.

Here are the savegames from my last testrun. Within the new paradigma it is the first one to last till Barbarossa. At this stage i mainly concentrate on what happens till Barbarossa. What happens after it will of course also require considerations. More manpower and ic changes the picture.

Help needed. I am still trying to get AOD 1.11 to work for my mod. I am able to start the game but when I trie to start a scenario the application crashes. One major difference to the vanilla version of the game is that I am using the Darkest Hour map.

Any clues where I can investigate? 1.10 has worked perfectly for me. I already checked the new AI files and the new area/region system...

@Pang Bingxun: Thanks for your reply. Finally I was able to track down the error. I used some individual buttons in the folders:
gfx\interface\button area\*.* and config\buttons.txt which caused the crash. As soon as I replaced the files with the vanilla versions everythings works fine.

Hi Pang, I really cannot say if that is something specific on my computer but the version 1.10 is absolutely stable, which means when I monitor the RAM-usage in the task-manager I hovers by 1.1 GB RAM very slowly increasing (I use a lot of graphic mods and sprites). With 1.11 first of all the RAM usage is at around 3GB from the beginning (for my setup) and I had a lot less sprites and graphics installed then. That was the culprit of my problems with 1.11 because at 3.4 to 3.5 GB RAM usage the game will crash because of the 4GB limit for 32-bit applications. Therefore I was close to that limit anyway and I monitored the RAM and it rapidly increased at the speed of 1MB/s so after 5-10 minutes reached the limit and the game closed. Therefore I was completely surprised when I went back to 1.10 that not only the RAM-increase is now not to mention but also the initial RAM-loading is much lower as I said with 1.1 GB and more graphics loaded.
I can test the next time your manual version here from the forum if that is a difference to the steam-version. You do not see a RAM-increase when monitoring with the task-manager?

Thanks anyway for the wonderful AoD mod - came back after a looong pause :)

Hello Pang, I had initially the same problem. The game would not start at all but the process was idling when looking in the task-manager. I did dozens of things but none was helping, Then I saw a hint towards the Nahimic-sound manager I have installed which comes with MSI-mainboards. So I just needed to close this Nahimic sound manager and no more problems to start the game at all. So before doing complicated stuff I would recommend to turn off all processes from autostart or other programs like in my case the sound manager of Nahimic to see if one them is maybe interfering.
