I donnot think they lost manpower, it has just been displaced in time. In 1.08 i reduced the gear up events for UK and Fra from 5 to 4, thus they consequently gained manpower. Probably in 1.08 they started with 60% peacetime ic modifier. Anyway, in 1.09 i increased the number of gearing up event back to 5, so they start with less initial manpower. The new fifth gear up event is triggered by UK guaranteeing independence of poland.
In other words, the Allies get a much easier run then they already have...

Not exactly. The start is less frustrating for human players. This is especially true for USA where 100% research costs approximatly 70 ic and civil spendings etc. come on top of that. Out of 90 ic available back then this was insane. For UK and Fra things are similar. And all 3 nations start with more Infra builds for AI, so that there is little to no net gain in time for Danzig. USA however may be much less unready for war in 1941.

Understood. But if there is a multi-player game where every major country (UK, USA, Germany, USSR, Japan & Italy) is played by a human, then these changes significantly benefit the Allies.

That is obviosly true. But mostly due to research spendings axis has still some significant icd advantage. Even if no peace penalty applies germany tends to produce more than UK and france together. And it might also be relevant that those changes increase the resource output of rares etc.. Axis can import and capture those.

Rheinland is triggered near immediately by human germany, isn't it?. Than UK had 94 effektive IC in 1936 in 1.07, 109 effective IC in 1936 in 1.08 and 125 effektive IC in 1936 in 1.09. Out of each additional effective IC 17%(and more without -20% from minister) need to be put on consumer good due to increased civil spending. 150 unused manpower however free 1.5 ic from consumer goods. So from 1.07 to 1.08 UK gained 14 ic free to spend. From 1.08 to 1.09 UK gained 12 effective ic free to spend. Earnings from resource exports may increase both numbers.

Good point (I guess you mean the Axis benefit from being able to trade more rares from the USA & UK, as surely the benefits from capturing those provinces is no different compared to 1.08).

Good to know, thankyou. I just wonder what unintended effect it will have on multi-player games.

With capturing i mean capturing stockpiles, that have not been traded.
Ah okay, yeah even paratrooping an enemy capital you clearly can't hold and isn't connected to your capital still magically teleports 25% of their stockpile straight to yours... I understand why it can't be changed, but still, strange AoD mechanics.

Hi Pang, Lennartos, and others.

Not sure if this is the correct place to post, but it seemed silly opening a new thread about this: :eek:o

I have been preparing a prov-image for Seville city, province 347. It shows the 'Giralda Tower' (the classical landmark of the city). Also, while checking the photo files of those years, I noticed the preponderance inside them of a Zeppelin which operated bringin rich people from the city to other cities, until the outbreak of civil war in summer 1936, so this photo joining the tower, the zeppelin and some classical trade buildings in the city centre with the typical lampposts seemed to me the coolest/most representative of it.

Ill_prov_347.png

What do you think about including it for 1.09? :eek:o

Oh, I didn't know somebody already had prepared one. My bad. :eek:o
No problem at all! However, I agree with Pioniere that the former one is somewhat better (yours is probably a tad too grainy).

Would you mind if we used the first one for a 1.09 patch? You could always put yours over it, if you like it more. I can even try to improve it a bit further, if you'd like me to do so.

I like your pic as it is for 1.09. I just did one thinking Seville would be quite far behind in the to-do list :D.

May I ask, what is needed for 1.09 to be completed? It is just the need for someone to do hardcoding changes for it to be officially confirmed and released? Or are there still being softcoded changes behind the scenes - I certainly know and am thankful Pionere and Titan79 have been giving significant help in improving the graphics and aesthetics of AoD!
