Can we have a development map mode?
It'd be nice to be able to see which my richest provinces are at a glance, especially when allocating parliamentary seats and so on

I think that having a base tax map-mode, as well as a base production and base manpower one would be good, and having economic show development instead of base tax would be awesome.

I think using the build development tool + relevant mapmodes works nicely. If they can adequatedly condense all relevant information on a single map mode though, yeah, that can be useful.
