Hello everybody, and welcome to our ninth development diary for ‘For the Glory’ (FTG).

Deadlines are closer... Let’s see other game enhancements!

We added several map modes and you already saw some of them. Here is the Revolt Risk map mode:

Easy to figure out there is a “problem” in Ruthenia for Hungary... Lithuania and Golden Horde have troubles too.

The reworked relations diplomatic mod:

Color on the map matches color code used in the information window.

We also added many tooltips in the game. For example:

And 13 is not a lucky number! Ledger also shows empty slots. By the way, selecting lines in the ledger for provinces, armies, navies and leaders centers the map on the corresponding province.

Better know what will happen when releasing Bengal with Mughal Empire.

Let’s go back to the first screenshot of this diary, easy to see technology levels and stability of players country (land, naval, stability, trade and infrastructure from left to right). For the players country, the shield on the left is the button to access Domestic Policies... and for all countries the displayed tooltip for the shield shows current policies.
Same principle for the land or naval level of any units on the map or the skills of the leaders of the players country.
Information about all aspects of the game is detailed, accessible and easily readable and it helps with the learning curve.

We also implemented some features that help with historical immersion. Just two of them as example:

Imperial flag
The Emperor is not always the Austrian ruler. There were exceptions in History. In FTG, the Imperial flag is for the country whose monarch is Emperor. It is possible to define monarchs that can’t be elected and Imperial flag to not be automatically displayed if a variable is set in setup or by event for the corresponding country.

Spread of Protestantism
When Protestantism and the Reformation appears in the game, provinces convert to these progressively according to the historical trend. Conditions for conversion and time frame are different for each possible province. It is possible for a player to switch State religion in a country that historically stayed Catholic but this will not impact the spread of Protestantism. There were reasons why some countries like Spain stayed Catholic at this time and this was not only because of the monarch’s will.

And a very visible game enhancement is about sprites. Another round of them:

WOOT!

Some excellent gameplay additions there, looking forwards to buying this. *grin*

Number 1 on my purchase list!:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

Love all the new features! No more archbishops as emperors! :D

Awesome! Might have to buy it. One minor bug to pick, sailing ships move with the wind, for the most part. As such, would it be too much to ask to have the flags point towards the bow of the ships instead of the stern? :D

Awesome!!!

Nice - will we get to see the stagnation formula or figure it out ourselves?
Figure it out but you can see result evolving with time, activity and competition now.

Could you please show us the Byzantine land sprite? Pleeeeease?:D
You will have to make a petition... or maybe thrashing mad already planned it.

And what do you do with speed?

Well, you can find lotsa pics where the flags don't point that way, it depends where the wind is exactly coming from, and many types of sail ships work still fine when it's not coming directly from behind. ;)

Most impressive DD.
The new tooltips and map modes are a nice addition to the game.
The sprites are just...incredible!

Not yet.;)

It looks very nice. However, sad that there is no superb winged hussars for Poland, so

Quite hard to implement cavalry right now, though it may change in the future. :)

Wait, if I'm seeing this correctly, Krain is the capital of Croatia in one of the screenies? If it is, that's totally incorrect.

Well, take a look at the vanilla map's Eastern Europe. Croatia just goes with the trend. (I mean paradox was lazy and didn't give a thing about the region when they made the map ages ago, not talking about FtG crew.)

Abstraction of the map according to the size of the provinces... on this map.

Why do you think several maps already exist and AGCEEP one will be released soon for free?
