As a strategy game, CKII is not the first pick, I'm afraid. If I want strategy, I turn to chess, go or the like. Sure it's nice, but any deep strategy isn't possible, the relationships are just too simple and without a much smarter AI no challenge will arise. Not to say I don't like whatever attempts to make the game challenging too, but the part I realize that I really enjoy is the roleplaying aspect.. the "game" part best serves as atmosphere that there's some struggle going on. I can't say I see Conclave as a strategy add-on any more than a flavour add-on (or Way of Life as flavour - the focus set is somewhat strategical). The historical realism of vassals meddling in your affairs is probably the part I appreciated most. It would've been nice if factions were made stronger and more dangerous, but that also didn't happen.. The fun part is still plotting with or against your vassals, sleeping with your sister, murdering your brother, battling infidels, the nice music, pictures, story, etc. Style is everything
