It seems the DD is implying that the next expansion and or dlc would be RPG element focus. And given the recent DDs that talk about events and what not, it seems they are going for a "sometimes it'll fire, so when it doesn't it'll create different stories" type of affair. Whereas Shattered Retreat and Threat was more about "it's always going to happen, irregardless".

Personally, I would have preferred a Threat relationship like the Opinion relationship, since it would make more sense for dynasties to feel threatened by you attacking their family members and in laws, than for national leaders to fear some foreign barbarian conquering some steppes. There's no particular reason that the foundation of the bonsai tree, needs to be purely gameplay mechanic based. Integrating it into old gameplay mechanics allows rpg features to better relate to it, vs introducing new mechanics which aren't supported by the previous role plays.

Doesn't irregardless mean without a lack of respect to the situation? (Specifically in a situation you wouldn't expect the thing to matter). E.g. "Normally I wouldn't care about the colour of the car, so long as the car itself was good enough, but given the utterly abhorable shade of pink, my decision was irregardless of colour this time."
Or does that sound stupid?

But yeah OT, I'm still not sure I can see how the bonsai tree matches with the update. Perhaps it's supposed to be about taking care of it so it grows, as an analogue to the prosperity system?

Irregardless is a bad, bad word. In your case it's *almost* acceptable - although tortuous - but the use given originally? Completely wrong.

For your sentence, why not say what you mean without torturing words? "...my decision was 'based on' colour this time" or "my decision was 'influenced by' colour this time"?

I also think you may have meant "abhorrent" :p

Nah. Abhorrent means you should abhor it. Abhorable just means you can. :p

But since there are a load of you here, does anyone have any idea what the bonsai thing is referencing? Or is it actually the prosperity system?

Well he said him self, that there not really is a point to all this, but I guess it maybe can show how life can grow (prosperity) and how life can end when the tree dies (New disease system)

Is there a point to all this? Not really, but perhaps you can guess what kind the next expansion will be…
