No, but waiting five months for a dude to paint your car a different color and add pinstripes because that is what you want rather than basic black is, which is essentially what editing the map would be the equivalent of doing. Changing the layout of the map is not going to do a whit to improve AI performance, game mechanics or how the gamer controls his nation's IC production, technology or builds units.

I agree that some map changes are cosmetic, I do. But I worry about Wilno - (if it's given to Lithuania in game), it was not "just some ethnic nonsence", on diplomatic scale, it influenced everything in the region. Lets say claims on Corsica can be considered totally unimportant to game's diplomacy or warfare. But Germany had some chance of getting Lithuania as ally for Wilno against Poland, in that case one of the earlier Mol-Rib pact variants would have happened, with Lithuania and Western-Southern Latvia going to Germany and Eastern-Northern Latvia with Estonia going to Soviets. That would have significant influence on Barbarosa. Thats just an example. Also, thats how Soviets got Lith agreement to get bases in there, by giving Wilno (though this is of lesser importance for game). Also, already mentioned military alliance - without Wilno problem, Poland would be allied to few more countries. So I was suprised that there wasnt even tiny event in Hoi2 about Polish-Lith crisis of 1938, when everybody was sure of war between those 2, but to possibly ignore this problem totally in hoi3 - that would be a bit too much.

I see mods like to ban people for asking questions about the map.
Nevermind. OK.

Question 1: Why is Warsaw so close to the border of Germany ?
Question 2: Why is Warsaw on the other side of the river ?
Question 3: Were there any visible changes to the map since Alpha ?

1. Right - and its not better to defend - someone said that its due to gamplay balance and defending purpse
2. As in HoI2 - it worked well there but... see point 1.
3. There are a lot

IMHO - the map looks great even with those 'tiny' ;) mistakes
if you dont like where the Warsaw is placed then its just one simple move: change the names of provs and their IC, terrain (etc) where it should be. Max 5 min of work.
OTOH changing the whole map and all places that arent 'perfect' would take so much time for Devs that we would have to wait veeery loong and I dont wanna wait anymore.

If you wanna the map to be perfect then wait for a mod. For sure there will be one like E3 Map for HoI2.

You buy a car. Pay for it a normal price. And wait 5 months for some dude to modify a part of a car so you can go more than 40 km/h ?

if they correct poland then the other parts of the map's error will get bigger
because of the shape of the earth and it must be strecthed to a 2D screen, there is no way to get a 100% correct map

Proposal to get the map fixed

Thank you. I perfectly understand that. But IMHO the map should have at least some common sense like Warsaw being further from german border than two provinces. If everything is being done for gameplay reasons why not make it a random map every time a new game is played like in Civ 4 ?

I fully agree. Let's opt then for a random map. At least that will be clear.

I have a suggestion to Paradox: it's seems that there are a lot of people around here pasionate and available to work for free. Whay you don't sponsor a project right now to fix the map?

It refers to a new "fake" account created for the purpose of circumventing a ban. The User Agreement that you signed when joining the forum specifically forbids this practice, so starting a sock-puppet account is an explicit violation of your User Agreement.

ty for the response....i was wondering what that meant..
.. i saw another mention IP ban.... and i have heard that term used before as well.......... but my question is: how do you IP ban someone that does not have a static IP address but rather a dynamic address?.. just curious..........

ty in advance for any response....

Very nice to see mobilization and demobilization included. Things continue to shape up well.

+1 on the teddy bear, btw. (i assume that some grumpy grognard will issue a micro-mod on how to change it if they don't like it)

Hmm, im still not sure why a bigger army would lead to bigger spending in other areas, but i´ll just take your word for it...

I suppose an army at peace time army would consume consumer goods and require you to pay their upkeep directly when they are sitting around. In a sense, the bigger your army, the less people who are earning their own keep without government spending.

In a sense, imagine consumer goods the amount of government spending and manufacturing to help pay for people to get by.

When you take people out of the private sector and employ them directly by the government, the government now has to provide their consumer goods directly. So the more you hire to build tanks and join the infantry, the more the government has to pay them to upkeep their homebody lifestyle.

Now when you declare war, then all those soldiers sitting around won't be needing all those consumer goods out in the field and instead will be using MRE supplies (ie the lowest bidder) and will put up with less.

At least that is how I could justify it...
