I have heard a lot about the new beta coming out and how the new development cost. And I have heard a lot of good and some bad ideas, I had my own idea and thought I should finally post it. My idea is the development should cost both monarch points and ducats, based on a flat value for monarch points to be modified by terrain and tech but not with wild changes, the ducat cost however should go up with development per type, as that way, there won't be a real cap, but it will feel like it due to the ever rising costs, this will can also be used with the betas equalizing system of the highest base only being as high as the other two combined. With this system, historical accuracy would remain intact and OPM would have a harder time reaching anything obscenely high, while the option wouldn't be blocked out and all nations would be able (hopefully) to use the system, and just have fun. The only other thing I want to mention is that a time-based would be fine, as long as it doesn't just shut off that feature for a while, if it was put in at all it should just be a multiplicative modifier to the monarch points. while terrain would just be an additive cost, and current development would be a growing additive cost on the ducat cost and not the monarch points. That is all.
