Hey I was wondering why we havnt heard from Inoco in a while..were they arrested for not having a Putin poster on the wall?

I understand not all devs want to chat it up but some idea of what fixes are being worked on and where the game is going dlc wise would be just good business.

Thanks

Let's hope all that silent communication is going towards fixing urgent bugs and get multiplayer out of the beta zone asap..

But we can always hope :D

Given their past communications its not likely they will be posting alot of information unless something is happening like a patch about to go live in x hrs or whatever.
As for your Putin comment, consider yourself warned hes has agents on these forums....

... the last sentence was a joke of course.

Or was it! ;)

Oh, come on, we are civilized people here! Noone will arrest you for not having Putin poster!

Well, maybe little fine of several thousands of dollars for overseen tax paid that suddenly reveals just now, some computer confiscating, little fine for having illegal warez for all command and arrest for head of company for big violation of copyright rules with all this warez - but no, noone will arrest you for poster here!

...At least, I think so.

Whatever you do, do not put on womens clothing and a colored baklava then follow that with a run in public while singing patriotic songs with an ironic undertone. You'll be in major trouble.

They probably don't want to say anything after all the crap they took during the last patch release.

For those who don't remember they said the patch would be out on a curtain date. That date came and went with no word. So the forums were ablaze with people saying how the devs broke their word. It lasted up until the patch actually was released, which was about two weeks as I recall.

Nonsense. They dont have to give an exact date, or even close to it. They can easily just say that "yes we are working on the next patch" and "here are some of the things it MAY contain" and "it should be out in the next month or two if everything goes well" and thats it. Instead we get silence, which for all intents and purposes means they could have moved on to something else already and this game is done.

Agree. Also you can see in windowed mode: "v 1.2 (build 1 - final...)". So game is likely done.

They havent moved onto anything else.

Multiplayer is still marked as a "beta".
Game was cheap - it most certainly looks like one where a lot of value comes from DLC.
People wont buy another DLC if game doesnt get significant AI updates.

I had my value from game with 45hours of total playtime - bought it on 75% sale - I would love to throw a lot more money to devs. Probably up to 30$ or more IF game gets major update to AI as thats one of very few singleplayer games Im having great time playing, and I can see myself having interest in this title for another 2 years or so if there will be content updates or maybe expansion.

Yep, im waiting to buy all the recent DLC's until its certain that an upcoming patch will greatly improve the AI. Otherwise there isnt much of a point unless you play multiplayer.

There is definitly plenty of scope for more dlcs, (more race and stuff), what we dont know are the sales numbers, if they were crap they may have moved on, everyone has to eat.

Having lived in Russia for a couple of years, I can tell you that August is a month where one takes well deserved vacations (especially taking into account the work done to finish any type of software), so my best guess that the developer teams is relaxing on a greek beach at the moment, therefore the silence.

I suspect we will have more dlcs (and the coresponding patch), if not we would be told I hope.
I dont expect the AI to evolve much (too hard, peeps will always complain anyway)
I do expect the GUI/hotkeys and starting options to evolve (sortof easy to implement)
the MP was in beta, so we should expect some ajustment.

Really? Previous version 1.2.1.42 was not "final".
Calm down :) Versioning usually goes like (if I remember correctly) a.b.c.d where:
d - is automatic build increment during compile time
c - is current minor milestone
b - current major milestone
a - current full version (its reserved for main file, then expansions in game industry ex - WoW 1.0, TBC 2.0, Wotlk 3.0, Cataclysm 4.0, Pandaria 5.0)

"Final" means they finished with current minor milestone and they are 100% sure everything they worked on or works as intended or is so bugged it got moved into its own milestone.

There is no general rules for versioning. Every company does it their own way, even if there are trends.

I agree with Etien post that I doubt the ai will ever become competitive, even though there is room for improvement. GUI could be improved easily with extra screens like in game documentation and detailed resources breakdown (for example a breakdown of where my spell maintenance goes to... as it is easy to forget about buffed units that are idly pumping your mana) and the most efforts should go towards MP, this is where the future of this game lies. If MP gets really good - and it has that potential - the game will go viral, and I for example will make all efforts I can to bring my friends to the game.
