- 2nd Canadian Division (the most successful beach landing..... fitted with 5 AT batteries, 5 AA batteries and 12 artillery regiments/batteries, the 12th SS Panzer was this divisions main adversary)
Well, since the 2nd Canadian Infantry Division only landed during the first week of July, that is one month after D-Day, I do hope they had a most successful beach landing.
It would have been quite a shame if they had been repelled by a rough sea or fallen on the beach, victims of the Normans' welcoming calva tipple ...

Remember: Wikipedia is not always your friends, sometimes you have to do actual researches ...
Or read our excellent DevBlogs: this one would have taught you everything you need to know about that "most successful" D-Day Canadian division. And it is featured ingame btw ...

oh I know it was late landing xD

Also MAt, you might want to actually play the game before telling us that division is in game....

Or will there be 10 allied divisions?

I was just pointing at the fact that your description of the 2nd Canadian Infantry was actually that of the 3rd, which is ingame.

If you want to play the 2nd, make a 3rd's deck, do not select any Wolverine or Priest (which were only allocated to the "assault divisions") ... and you've got it.

but you said THAT division will be in game, so either, we are getting a seperate 2nd Canadian official division, or you were lying to be smug

Also the 3rd landed on Juno beach in June

Do research maybe?

THAT "most successful D-Day Canadian division" can only be the 3rd CID, the one already ingame, for unlike your very dubious historical description, the 2nd CID only showed up one month after that.

Can I just add though, that the 3rd, did in-fact have the second as support during the initial landings (but only of a few of the 2nds armour brigades (more an fyi for everyone than anything else)

Please tell me you don't think the independent 2nd Canadian Armored Brigade had anything to do with the 2nd Canadian Infantry Division just because they shared a numerical designation?

not at all, just an observation.

Nothing at all like how you think the 3rd and 2nd are the exact same that's for sure

(truth be told, was seeing if you were taking that bait since you didn't know the seconds landing dates from the 3rds)

But what are you talking about?!?
You're mistaking the 2nd & 3rd CID although they landed at one's month interval, you're mixing up the 2nd CID & 2nd Armored Brigade although the later was an independent attached for D-Day to 3rd CID ... it is very hard to keep track of what you're actually trying to demonstrate.

From what I'm reading it looks like Sir A Harris is being told but is desperately trying to put a good show, even going for the "Haha, you took the bait, I was just pretending to be retarded".

While i can understand what you wanted to say, Sir A Harris, the fact is the devs couldn't/can't just make each and every divisions that fought in Normandy for two reasons:
- Don't have the time, money or manpower to do so.
- These divisions maybe bring nothing new in comparison to those ingame.

There are some questionables choices with the available units for some divisions, but going after the developpers nationality will not change it. A calm and civil talk has more chance to end with a concrete result.

Now there are some stopgaps solutions, as taking one of the existing divisions and picking only what was available in your wished division (as Madmat explained with the 2nd CID/3rd CID case). Unless I'm mistaken modding tools also enable you to create a division by changing insignias, commander, descriptions, points, allocation... something which should be enough to depict over half of your listed divisions.

Personally I would prefer to have all ingame divisions balanced and with each adding its flavour rather than having tens of copy-pasted divisions added for the sake of adding them.
And there is still a fair bit of balancing to be done/implemented.

thats one thing I am trying to point out though, some entire units are missing from the game that we can't mod in thanks to eugens half arsed ness

Its all well a good to customize a few bits and all by switching, that I am fine with, but when we are missing ENTIRE UNITS just because the couldn't be bothered

its wargame all over again, I can't be civil with eugen as in the past the started being uncivil with me, they lost my respect, they need to re earn it. Paradox however, I love.

Speaking of "ENTIRE UNITS", it would be good, if you Name These Units to validate your Argument.

Furthermore, i have to tell you a bitter truth: No game developer will add stuff (like british Divisions) into the game only because one person (you) wants it. And this game is most certainly not Wargame. The provided DSivisions instead of whole Nation decks and a specific Topic (Normandy 44) is more like the opposite to the more General Wargame Topics.

Hellcats, Commandos, Jadgpanthers? To name a few

(also read back, I have 2 of those units, theres more too named)

Hellcat, ok.

Man, you don't even know all of the Units, that will be in the game with all the confirmed Division and stating some, that will most probably be in the game already. As for Jagdpanther in particular: I think you can see a picture of it on the Eugen or Paradox main Website of Steel Division, so it will be in...

So, now you have got Hellcats and Commandos( which culd be in one of the implemented Divisions) and that is enough to form much more unique Divisions?

right...
