The battle of castle Itter is fascinating. I'd never heard of that. I'm also surprised that the stones of that tower didnt fall apart more... :)

@EUG_MadMat

Very interesting read, thanks. I'm really enjoying the feel of the six divisions so far, and how different they play despite obviously sharing quite a few common units. I'm really looking forward to seeing the other 12.

It was mentioned on the latest Paradox stream that there will be three campaigns, so can I assume they are British, American and German?

"Phase C still increase the division’s artillery, infantry & anti-tank capacities"

If I may ask, is this a typo?
You don't get a single card of infantry in phase C.

This was pointed out by someone else in the article comments but worth mentioning if not noitced

"Little correction required ref Rene Levesque. He was the Premier of Quebec, not the PM of Canada. As he was the leader of a separatist party this might be a little offensive to some Canadians. "

Premier of Quebec is translated in French by "Premier ministre du Québec" (PM) and in Eugen's article, René Lévesque is said to be "Québec PM", sometimes "Canada PM" :

"With the American recon patrol he first met was future Québec PM René Lévesque, then a war correspondent, who recognized the tennis star instantly. And thus a Roland Garros champion led back a patrol of American scouts with a future Canadian PM to the already extravagant collection of defenders of Itter Castle."

Division with powerful artillery guns and pretty decent stugs. you dig in, order those mortars and nebelwrfers and then counterattack using artillery to destroy enemy fire nests.

Wouldnt call its close air support strong, the allies have air superiority in game with the cheaper fighters and those 12.7 cal shootingthe planes.

By the way i think ground 12.7 should only shoot dive mombers and ground assault planes like the hs129 or stuka. They will fly near the ground. All other planes fly way too high for 12.7.

Why does the GvB have the 7.5cm FK18 and 10.5cm SK18 instead of the 10.5cm Le.FH18(M) and 15cm sFH 18 that they were actually equipped with?

A status report sent to the II.Fallschirmkorps on the 15th June shows they had 25 10.5cm Le.FH 18(M)'s and 12 15cm sFH 18's and only 4 10cm K18's. If you were so inclined you could equip your deck with 35 10cm K18's which is 31 more than the division had in total.

I posted this in the forum a couple of days ago but here seems more relevant.

Thanks for the nice summary again Mad. But you marked it as a defensive Division. I disagree, as i find it very useful for attacking due to the support assets, the StuG IV that fulfill their role as support tanks etc
