I haven't started playing yet but sounds great so far, EXCEPT, for the love of god, please let me create my sectors myself! I LOVED the roleplaying aspect of creating my own sectors, deciding which star systems go in, like for example all with a certain race in them etc, and naming them :(

This update is really good and fun, I like the planet rework but just please do something about the new system of growing in our planets. When you have only one species there is no problem but when you have 2 or more species in your planet, its problematic. I explain : in my planet I had 1 species. Humains with 85% habitability and later (With a migration treaty) another species spawned : Sarok with 25% habitability. I don't know how your system is working but when first Saroks appeared in my planet, humains stopped growing up. I admit I was a little bit tilted when I saw that because first it is not logical Sarok they were less in the planet and I had just 0.2 immigration. Second they had 25% hability so they spend more consumers goods and they were not better than humain. Please do something about that. In the older system when you had 2 species in your planet the species the largest species were growing faster than the other and that was more logical. Please do something like several species can grow at the same time.
Thanks it was just my opinion about this system except that and some bugs (Sometimes IA does not attack during the wars) I really liked this economy/planetary rework

ps : Sorry if I did some faults im not English :)

Played a little. Experience, in principle, positive. But obviously this still requires a serious revision .

The concept itself is very good. The planet is now much more like a planet with its population and problems than it was before. But it is ill-conceived movement of priests on a social ladder. Immediately after the construction of the building there are put Priests, not those whom you would like to put there. I would like to have more control over this process.

Well, with population growth now complete garbage became. I have the event on one of the colonies appeared prolific refugees from the underworld. So what? These guys have become here same grow on ALL my planets! That is my main race just as if he had ceased to reproduce, and to reproduce these comrades, that I in such numbers in General have not rested. But the system has somehow decided that they will now ensure the growth of the population of my Empire. And this is at a ratio of 76: 1. If the alien race does not have the perk "reproduction", the situation is a little better. But still, these guys start to breed on the planets they are all wrong, and stuffed them then there where they live better you want to handle wasting energy.

In General, a file still need a long time to saw it.

The game is now finally playable. Before it was completely unfun mess and I stopped buying DLC a year ago. Now it's some fun and I've got all latest DLC. There needs to be additional diplomacy added and whole new espionage mechanics then the game is even better. Btw factions currently seem underwhelming, just as before. Influence needs some rework and faction impact needs to be better.

Yes as people mentioned above there is a problem now with xeno pops always (or nearly always) being a priority when new pop starts growing. It leads to weird situations where half the alien empires have their beginner populations as minority.
I think the issue comes from each type of pop having equal chance to reproduce and I think the chance should be based upon existing pop distribution on the planet. That or native population spawn chance comes to 0 when there are xeno species which would be very weird.

Also: perfomance seems to be improved since a year ago. I can run the 600 stars galaxy well into 500 years on very fast and 1000 galaxy gives ok speed instead of unplayable.

Really would like technology to have a hotkey instead of traditions. I was very happy that fleet manager got a hotkey.
Aye, totally agree with you.
It's great that they finally give Fleet hotkey. But they took away Tech hotkey, which is the most important thing in the game.
Another thing that tick me off is that they split Edith and Policies and GIVE both hotkeys.
How often do people open these two that they need hotkey?

  1. Excitedly boots 2.2.0 and can't wait to play some new Stellaris
  2. The main menu has a little popup telling me I should maybe turn tutorials back on because they've changed so much. I say "nah, I've got almost 500 hours into this game I'll be fine."
  3. Two minutes in and I turn the tutorials back on for guidance.
  4. 5 minutes in and I realize that none of the tutorials have been updated to be nearly on par with those from the previous versions of the game and they are completely useless for teaching me this new version.
  5. 45 in and I've pretty much figured out the new resources, trading, tile system.
  6. About an hour in and I gain my 5-7th planets in a way, auto-adds to a new sector, sector planets can't be changed. Also like what is up with this?! This isn't useful information at all.
    Capture3.PNG
  7. 4 hours into the game and the amount of trade bugs, UI bugs, sector management bugs, and just straight up lack of management tools for these new systems hits critical mass. This game is unplayable in it's current state.
  8. Wait for patch. At least I can rest easy knowing that one is coming.

Just pining for the days when companies released playable versions of games. I love this game, I have plenty of hope in the devs, I just still kinda feel like I'm in an abusive relationship with Paradox. Things aren't looking so good so we decide we need change. Weekly progress reveals a good thing we have going here. Things are really good and then we find out there is another mechanic that might need fixed. We dig into it and find out that it's pretty deeply rooted issue. They promise change. We get massive changes accompanied by another plethora of minor issues that we'll have to keep getting over. I solemnly look across the street and I see into Bethesda's window and I shudder briefly. I guess it could be worse, so much worse. But does that make this treatment good? When you spend money on a game advertised as complete, shouldn't you get a game which is complete?

Abandoning that metaphor, just rolling back a version to a good ass game that I been playin since OG release. Not the same game. Still good. Keep up the good work! Like I said before at least historically the patches have always came through, which is considerably more than other companies are doing nowadays.

in my 500 hours of playing i never ever used the technology hotkey. i always just clicked on the science glass.

As someone who has played RTS games for two decades I can tell you that changing the hotkeys, while sometimes necessary in an expansion like 2.2, creates chaos. I'm constantly hitting wrong hotkeys now. It's not the end of the world just because hotkeys are different now though, it just takes some getting used to. Now, if you were to change the hotkeys in a fast paced RTS game like Age of Empires II, I'm pretty sure the fan-base would riot.

i agree it would something really critical in a real rts. but this is a click fest. theres no point imo to learning the hotkeys. there is no real time pressure. if you get overwhelmed there is always space bar.

Oh, I know. Stellaris is pretty really slow compared to most other RTS games, which is why a change of hotkeys doesn't bother me.

What speed you guys usually play at?
I usually set to Fastest speed. Only during battle would I set to Slow or Slowest.

Considering that I open Tech screen a lot, I much prefer using hotkey instead on using my mouse to open it every time research complete.

I'm sad. Just built a new base and, as it turned out, its trade route passes through a system with an automatic dreadnought. As a result, this dreadnought destroys all trade value. There is a workaround, but the game does not see it. And do not use. I have little idea that anyone in their right mind had built their trade through an unkillable creature. But the game does not care. Unfortunately.

Restrict access to the system with the automated dreadnaught it will redirect the trade route.

Paradox! WTF?!

Why game now so slowly? Why administrative limit so low? Why pop's grown so slow? Why micromanagement covers all other sides of the game? Why you make Stellaris unplayable?
