Found a few glitchy things (eg keyboard controls not working) I initially was experiencing rectified with a quick re-verify of Steam files. Sure there'll be some niggles ahead, but my initial thoughts are really positive about 2.0 changes and Apocalypse. Love some of the quality of life changes. Takes some getting used to with the switches to cash being used to buy leaders and the need to stake out systems. Feels really intuitive still though. Game's been rock solid stable. It looks freaking amazing too. Well done Stellaris team. This is really enjoyable to play. And I was really sceptical about enforced hyperlanes.

Update, 378 mb i believe, DLC 5.4 Gb according to a friend
I got the update, but the DLC did not install. So I restarted Steam and got a 3.0 GB update.

Steam downloaded 500MB for the patch. After bying the dlc another 36MB was downloaded.

Current i struggle a little bit with the new fleet manager. When I reinforce fleet I often get new fletts. I also have no idee how to upgrade fleets too a new shipdesign. Sometimes I can't upgrade the old ships to the new template. Sometimes the get upgraded and sometimes not. Can someone give me a good video, which explane every new funcion of the fleet manager und the new starbase. I realy need help to understand this.

I can't say enything to the new patch, because first I have to play it a while.
I played the whole night to finish my last game with 1.9.1 bevore the patch releases, so now I need a break and a lot sleep.

Tbh I have no idea myself what the actual DLC size is. It could also depend on what other DLC's you have. I keep hearing different sizes all the time

New things are all nice and good but I am going to try what I did first in stellaris - just colonise half a galaxy in 100 years without any trouble from AI while having less fleets then many neighbours and watch AI not colonise lots of empty space around them - if it works again - game still isn't good.

Edit: found out an option to set mid-game and end-game to 2225 - which I did, crisis IS competitive, even if AI is not

And still completely useless broken multiplayer in non-steam version.

Bought the game in 1.7.x, enjoyed a few games with comrades, and since 1.8 it became unusable because virtually everyone else is on Steam spyware.

Wasted money, and Paradox doesn't seem to care at all. Not even warn prospective customers that multiplayer is only available between Steam users, and between non-Steam users (which are ~none). Was my first and last Paradox purchase. :-(

Loving the new update lads, but one thing I'm finding incredibly annoying is the "auto-best" feature. I want to build my ships my way, and not have to delete the new designs every time I get an upgrade. Is there a way to turn this off?

Pre-2.0 exploration technique for me was to send a corvette on a fly through of a series of systems, then follow it up with a survey by a science ship. If a corvette turned into Space Dragon fodder oh well -- they were cheep and didn't have that many pixelated crew members. Even at 2.0 prices it was better than losing an experienced science officer. With 2.0 when I tried this I was informed I had no path. After surveying the entire system I got the message the a recon path was cleared.

The question is: will I have to survey every enemy star system before I can send a fleet in. That seems both impractical and extremely dangerous for scout scientists. If I know the hyperlane exists (I can see them on the map), what is stopping my hyper drive equipped ship from using it?

Edit: Still in the early game, but I like the new features I've seen so far. Oh and I got the update but haven't got the dlc yet.

Wait for the patch that will likely come next week :) The game is playable right now, but after patching it will be even better.

Trying to start a new game. It says my checksum is wrong. No idea how to fix it.
I've clicked Ironman, I have no mods at all, and verified file integrity.
Maybe I need to uninstall and reinstall but that seems excessive to me.
Tell me there Is no place for me to type in daf0. That would be embarrassing but if it is fixed I do not care.

I'm having a full-brick crash that I have to do a full hardware restart to recover from. Running Apocalypse on a newer Mac through Steam. (OS 10.13.3, i7 processor, 16GB RAM, Radeon 6970 2GB) I get through to the Select Civilization screen, putter around for 90 seconds, screen turns to hash and controls unresponsive.

Will do complete uninstall and reinstall before making a formal bug report. When I bought Apocalypse, Steam gave me a goofy "Cannot install" message, then installed it anyway. That might be the problem.

"Livestock" slavery is broken - food from such slaves is not collected.

Also "Camera button" on many events is broken - it zooms camera to the center of the galaxy and not on the solar system of event (with autopause on events enabled).

Armor have old wrong description in Ship Designer.

"Barbaric Despoilers" and "Post-Apocalyptic" civic are too weak for what they do.

In empire creation screen, if I change appearance of my previously created species, the species's picture doesn't change in "Select Empire" left menu bar.

"Hive mind" species (or at least Devouring Swarm species) still doesn't have free migration (ability to turn off migration controls).
It prevents playing them as "Zerg" race, where they are automatically migrate to new planets.
