I am still getting absolutely MASSIVE late-game slowdown. My pc has a 10700k cpu and a 3080 Ti. One of the cores of the cpu keeps hitting 100% load at the beginning of many months while the other cores don't generally get above 20%. I'm playing in a large galaxy in my current playthrough, and the slowdowns started getting annoyingly noticeable after I had conquered about half the galaxy, then quickly got to the point where they make the game essentially unplayable. When a new month begins, the game will often completely stop for several minutes. I can click on things (so the game hasn't completely hung), but the game doesn't register any changes (choosing a new tech, building buildings, moving fleets, etc.) until the lag spike ends several minutes later. PLEASE FIX THIS, DEVS. I really love the direction the game has taken in general, but the performance problems override anything else since they make the game unplayable (for me at least).

Edit: the lag spikes generally are worst when I finish researching a tech. Maybe because I'm just doing repeatable techs at this point that usually buff my fleets, and I have something like 22 fleets of 1 titan, 30 battleships, and 4 corvettes. I'm guessing the new tech buffing my ships might have something to do with the slowdown but not sure.

Are the people having trouble with late-game lag still using default pop growth settings? Because I notice that the lag on my system becomes significantly more noticeable if I've adjusted the settings to make more pops instead of using the default.

Is anoyone at Paradox testing Patches before release? I can't count how often Patches broke something and it took month for you to fix.
Now with the latest Patch the Game freezes for 3+ Minutes always on the 2 day of a Month, sometimes on the 16th, HOW CAN YOU F........ MISSED THAT?
Reverted to 3.3.2 and it runs smoothly.
