If you have FLESH_IS_WEAK_PROJECT, SYNTHETIC_EVOLUTION_PROJECT, or BREACHING_SHROUD_PROJECT active in your save, those projects will not work, because their implementation has been changed. Other than that, I think it should be compatible with 2.1.0 saves.

As in the situation log project to breach the shroud? That's unfortunate because I have that project ongoing. Any idea if everything will be fine if I finish the project and then use the beta patch?

Hello,
I had some bugs in 2.1.0 and i dont see these bug fixes in this beta.
I have problem with Jump Drive - Even if I have range for jump to some system, it just doesn't work. No matter if I use GUI or i press 'J' button, the jump drive is being loaded but after it my ships just jump inside one system - they don't jump into another. Pretty weird.
Another problem is with the ship constructor. I get the Autonomous Ship Intelligence (red AI) and after that I researched Precognition Interface. Ship constructor was set to auto, so I unchecked it and changed the red Ai for precognition one - but I couldn't use "save" button. Its just grey - it says that the name of template already exist but it doesn't ! I can write anything and it just doesn't work. Once I even managed somehow to click 'save' button but when I did this and I quit ship constructor, then I went into ship constructor again - I still had Autonomous AI on this . Weeeird. Do you know about this, any of you? Thanks

It will be fine if you finish the project before switching to beta.

I don't know if this is a bug or not, but in my game, I had an AI planet rebel and join me. Then because I owned the outpost to that system I now gained the second planet in the system.

Hmmmm...Not sure if I like the fact that you lose L-Gate access if you've already have it opened. I have ships I can't move now until I research it? That should be rethought...New games sure...but not existing...

Will this work retroactively? I've played three games and every time I never get a research project for the Scavenger Bot thingy. I'm well into a game now and would love to get a research project for the Scavenger Bot I already found.

I don't see any mention of the bug with the Old Shrine story line where you have to visit three locations and then research something in each but going to the system doesn't trigger the event (possibly when you already own the system). Is that bug related? Is it fixed?


* Properly calculate cached values when ships are created, meaning fleet power is now displayed correctly

Curious if this is why some of my ships have drastically different combat power despite being the same design version and the same experience level. Two of my fleets can vary in overall combat power by 100's for no reason...

Can someone please tell me whats this "lag/stuttering" issue? I haven't been able to play a lot recently because of exams and stuff. I bought distant stars and played for about 20-30 years and I haven't noticed anything and I'm playing on my shitty laptop.

If someone hasn't already replied, the lag/stutter is hard to see on low end equipment as far as I can tell, because you're already getting enough other stutter that it isn't as noticeable. On higher end equipment it's very jarring, because you transition from buttery smooth to a significant jump on each day tick and on any direct tool-tip to tool-tip transition.

Anyone else have an issue where, if you had access to L-gates on a save prior to the beta, you cannot use L-gates? I assume this is because of the new changes adding an L-gate tech, but now I have fleets on the other side of the L-gate and cannot get back to normal space. Any way around this?

This is definitely not part of the rolling 2.1.1 beta. I think it is part of vanilla 2.1, because I noticed the change when I started my new Thorian hive mind campaign a few days ago.

Some of the guys here really need to upgrade their processor at least. I have a core i7-8850 and the game runs fine at 2350 and beyond unless I switch to speed 3 and then the performance issues appear(still playable). However, if it is causing your game to crash or freeze or to the point of being unplayable, then yes you need to get a newer processor or better, purchase a stronger computer. No performance update will ever fix your issue completely.

I5-8600k @ 4.8 and the update causes significant stutter lag to point of being unplayable. Not sure what you're getting at, the issue has been confirmed by the project lead.
