This is all well and good but the game is still very slow I've sent my fleet to attack someone across a large galaxy then went to walk my dog came back and they were only 50% of the way there though this was only on fast speed...

OK, since they beat you id, say open borders is like a requirement to keep on having peace, otherwise, if i was the programmers, id let you close borders then just have them declare war on ya and battle ya again.

I crushed them. The option to close borders to FE's doesn't exist, so in peacetime there is no way to make them take another route. This was mentioned in a bug thread or another thread but NO FIX yet.

Nothing like being on the Edge of Victory......imposing my Ideology , Got his last 2 planets under seige, no spaceports left for him to make ships, HIS defensive ally blocked off from assisting.......all to lose to the TIMER OF WAR EXHAUSTION FOR THE FORCE SURRENDER AS MY ARMIES ARE JUMPING INTO THE SYSTEM........

SORRY BUT AUTO SURRENDER IS NOT WORKING OUT.

At least not for the imposing Idealogoy wars. if it was conquest I just would of controled 90% of his territory after and been like 10 years and i am coming for the rest buddy.
but no, I am not a conquesting race so i cant do that, now ill just have to fight a tougher fight next time after 10 years, and even then probly not going to win due to the time it will take.............................................................this needs fixing. I know war exhaustion is a system bent on balancing but something is still way off. I was DOMINATING, I should be forced only if it was just conquest to control, instead I was changing their ideas and such like america does then setup a friendlier government i can talk to.....crap i am american.

At least have a way to be able to continue it, or if forced out the wait time is only like 2-5 years to declare war again, (as long as its the same type of war last time if that helps balance).

Hell, ill take a 50% reduction or a penalty that stacks as years go on to unity and Influence If i want to continue, i actually like the forced penalty system, i was nice to know if someone wanted to lock you down in war they had to take a penalty to do so.

No a MOD should not be the answer to this problem, have it as a built in option on how to handle war exhaustion penalties.
I see the potential in this game, I am waiting for it, I even bought expansions hoping, and for the fact they fix issues of game balance.

EIther way, give options to the players, just recommend settings as default for those too undecided.

I want to give a good review, i want to change my review but I am not seeing the game working out so far for a positive review. TOO bad steam doesnt let you do a neutral review, that explains why. so a game needs 80-90% positive (depends on game type) from me to get positive status on steam.

How will the fight be tougher next time? You've destroyed their fleets and halted their production. They'll be weaker, not stronger.

The binary nature of an ideology war is a problem, yeah. Either you win it all, or win nothing.

Nope. Checked and turned them off. As far as Ascension Perks go, this is vanilla.
Did you turn off ALL mods? Just because a mod doesn't seem like it would affect Ascension Perks it still could. Any UI or AI mods active?

I had done that last night, and it was still there. But this afternoon, apparently it works, up to the mod that adjusts the Traditions. Which obviously simply hasn't been updated yet. Odd, but... Whatever. Fixed, I guess.

* Opinion modifier from Hallowing a Fallen Empire's Holy World no longer decays
Nobody else seems to have touched on this one yet. I was really excited about this one since I'm currently playing spiritualist nearby the spiritualist FE, but unfortunately the opinion I got from previously hallowing their holy world has already decayed, and there was no retroactive opinion boost. :( Does anyone know of a way to un-hallow a hallowed world in Ironman mode?

There's always savegame editing. I've done it on occasion to fix bugs. And once or twice for convenience... :p

If the modifier still exists at all, and has just stopped decaying, probably easiest to just up the actual number back to the original.

But have you seen all Pre-Sapient exclusive traits? I've only seen Irradiated and some reported Starborn before, but I don't remember anyone reporting Proles, for instance.
I think when they removed the servile empire issue, they accidentally turned off random generation for all presapient traits. Some presapient get irradiated prescripted (cockroaches for example) but most presapient I see are traitless.

Yeah same here, the only Irradiated I met were the Roachoids, but even then I've seen a couple people saying they saw Starborn (iirc) in the older beta patch so I'm not sure it has been fully fixed now.

Apologies if I’m being dense, but the changelog says at one point the star base limit is 100 (“Increased max starbase capacity to 100”), and at another it says it’s 999 (“Raised starbase max cap to 999”). Which one is it?

Two things:

- Do people notice the AI having tiny fleets? In my game (mid-game I´d say since my fleet strength is 6.7k) my rival has two fleets of 1100... Captain difficulty.
- Declared war on them to get their gaia planet. The alien pops then... simply didn´t grow. At all. Any causes for that? I did put Martial Law on, but it´s weird. (Obviously not purging). Then suddenly one of MINE pops started growing on the planet...

Noticed the first as well.

As for the latter: check your species rights. You may have population controls enabled for that species (it is the default for some xenophobes I think?).

Other possibility, if they're residents and you reclaimed land on the planet. Non-citizens cannot grow on, migrate to, or be resettled to reclaimed modifer planets. (The resettled part is annoying, that should be allowed.)
