Hi Paradox! Its been a while since apoc DLC was out, and to this very day, I still can't play the game. I really want to give it a try. But the ringworld bug, just kills it for me. It was reported multiple times by many people. Still no fix. Any ETA on it ? Is the bug being worked at ? I REALLY would like to play the game, and until its fixed, I just cant. Is it really this hard to fix the gap in the ring, almost a month after Apoc is out ?

* Added two new mid-game society techs, one for Hive Minds and one for Machine Empires, that substantially boost resource production

Machine Empires and Hive Minds already have the Neuro-Electric Amplifier / Hive Synapse / Control Center. Are you sure they need another boost?

Probably yes.

ME and hive mind get no happiness bonus, ever. Additionally, ME have the lowest potentional pop bonuses to production, and no access to ascension leader boosts (well, except assimilators, who can get cyborg leaders from day 1). Machine worlds pretty much just counteract those specific weaknesses.

They have other advantages in early game, to help snowball, so it's alright if they have some weaknesses too, but many think they're still disadvantaged overall (and some even stubbornly refuse to accept they have early game benefits :p). The synapse, control center, even the amplifier doesn't make up for no happiness bonus, the addition of a mid game 10% bonus tech will help.

Also, it might not even apply to assimilator cyborgs, which would be a pretty big kick on the nuts if so. I hope it does. As it stands, once you have machine worlds, the only justification for continuing to use cyborgs is that they still produce energy and minerals a little better on habitats and ringworlds than machine pops can. And, with the new resource replicator buff, that may not even matter for minerals, since MEs are generally in the best position to make the replicator pay off.

Yeah, but they have no unhappiness problems either. Shouldn't that be the trade-off? Fair enough I can't speak beyond Assimilators, but for them the advantage of conquering a planet and having it producing at 100% in 2-3 years is a huge bonus in itself. More than compensates for the lack of happiness, or so it feels to me.

Assimilators are very strong at expanding. Like I said, early game power, especially for assimilators (which, of course, also permanently locks a civic slot).

I've never had unhappiness problems with my actual native pops. Even if I have unhappy factions, it's just a tiny inconsequential fraction, and usually by that time I have enough other happiness bonuses that they're at least not getting production penalties, just missing out on bonuses.

As for conquering (which not everyone does), assimilators and rogue servitors are the only ones that avoid unhappiness issues. Assimilators may still have unrest problems, but only for a short while. The other 2 MEs don't get any help.

Not really, remember, you can use gaia terraformation for gain a +10% bonus in your cyborgs.

So: Industrious/thrifty + neuroeletric amplifier + gaia world = +40% for energy and minerals.
If you min-max your original cyborg specie or have luck in galactic generation you can make later a cyborg with industrious + very strong (assimilators cant pick biological ascension path, so, gene points are a real issue here) for a total of +50% minerals.

Assimilator machines can stack +10% machine trait, +20% machine world terraformation, +5% for complete versatility tradition = +35%. So, cyborgs are better for energy and minerals.

I dont known if the new gestalt tech affect both (machines and assimilator cyborgs) but probably the answer is yes.

* AI should now be better at specializing its starbases
Thank you very m
uch for this. Now maybe the AI won't be such a cakewalk (and I may come to regret this hubris when the AI steamrolls my face)
I doubt it, specializing starbases was not the thing breaking AI in 2.0.1 and 2.0.2, it's obsession with producing much more food than it needs and dismantling everything else was.

Ive had an issue in 2 games with the baldarak chain. Where "new baldarak" appears in your home system. you cant build a research station for the +4 society research. Ive not had "new baldarak" outside home system yet.

Machine Empires and Hive Minds already have the Neuro-Electric Amplifier / Hive Synapse / Control Center. Are you sure they need another boost?

Don't forget, that this isn't "another boost", it is merely making up for the 2 nerfs Machine Empires got in 2.0 - first the bonus from Machine Worlds was nerfed from +25% to +20% and then they lost access to a tech for +5% production. This is just rectifying those two uncalled for nerfs. And Hive Minds absolutely needed it too, they are the most underperfoming form of government.

However both Hives and Machines could use another boost, they are lagging behind normal organics, especially behind Mechanists who will go the Synth route. Their early game advantage is not so great as it used to be.

Sadly it doesn't, it affects only machines. Tested it by removing the prerequisite line for the tech they can't research from the 00_soc_tech file and then researched all techs in-game via console. Only machines got the +10% boost.

Hi Guys, hi paradox, so here something I found something interesting, After i spawned Ether Drake using console command and use it to attack enemy system that has station/base with some fleet in its orbit, the ED attack and destroy the fleet, but after that ED didn't move and not trying to attack the station/base which is not in its weapons range, its seems freezed and do nothing. I have to send or in this case spawned another ships (ofcourse using Command Console) that is closer to enemy station/base so this newly spawned fleet can destroy the station/base because station/base within its weapon range, and this action made ED's freezed behavior stopped. its seems odd and looks not good at all for the best space pet in the galaxy, it doesn't deserved this bug, please fix it, the leviathan DLC must be saved.

How confident are we that Scaling is WAD? I started a game to try it out and it feels like the AIs are starting out much stronger than they did in old normal. The difficulty selector states that they start with no bonuses, but that's not how it seems.

Not really complaining, it's fun that the game is more challenging, I'm just wondering what's up.

Same here. It is 2227, and every AI I have encountered is AHEAD of me. I chose scaling difficulty levels for this game.

Not mad, just... really really confused.
