Will do! The log files are (in my case, Ubuntu) in ~/.local/share/Paradox Interactive/Imperator/logs (same location as the save games, caches and such). Any log file in particular?
error.log, game.log, and debug.log would be most useful! Thanks!

Hi!
Im playing as Rome and i could not grant any triumph yet to any of My consuls. I have won Many wars againts sammnites, estruscan, apulians, lucanians, but the tooltip Say they have to be legate or governor. Are not My consuls governors of the Main province?

How do i grant a triumph no then?

I ran into the same problem with my tribal chief as Icenia. For some reason, I think the game doesn't recognize that being a ruler means you are also a governor.

Absolutely loving the 2.0 update! It's been an absolute blast, and Imperator has really come to its own as an amazing Paradox title to rival all the others. I'd say it's quickly becoming one of my favourites!

On that, could we get some clarification on what this point in the patch notes means?
Made Mithridates events more reliable
Does this just mean the events fire upon more reliable and regular intervals? Or are there more fixes involved? Currently, Mithridates' Pontus isn't quite functional (Primary culture is Cappadocian not Pontic like irl, primary culture is stuck at freemen rights, etc.) and I'm curious if those fixes are part of this patch, or are coming in future updates.

Keep up the amazing work!

EDIT: By the way, I think the example of Roman Consuls leading their legions is a better example of where rulers led professional armies, such as Caesar leading his legions in his conquest of Gaul while he was Consul, and with that example I definitely would agree with your point because those were armies made up of life-long soldiers and it was the ruler leading them.
Caesar didn't wage war on Gaul while he was consul. He did that when he was governor of neighbouring provinces (cisalpine gaul and transalpine gaul) that were already under roman rule. So that particular example does in fact the opposite.
Still, the point stands. Consuls led legions, and the civil war that followed the example above is proof of this (Caesar and Pompey).
There are even examples that were not said here, like the spartan kings

yes did the great wonder thing yesterday. but make sure every mod is deactivated. No dev has said anything about it yet, but even the music mods give you the message "mods will disable achievments"
I'm not using any mods. Started playing on 2.0, then continued playing on 2.0.1 and that's when the achievement failed to trigger. Could be save game compatibility issue.

The age of kings commanding their armies was in full swing during this era, and I would argue that the army Seleukos marched from Mesopotamia with to fight at the battle of Ipsus was what we have as Legions in the game. Similar for the opposing force of Antigonids. I'd rather not have it be an exception at all, and rather just be something that any ruler is able to do.
Yeah, I agree. I'm not sure I understand the logic of the devs here, though I'd be interested to hear their reasoning, as they do seem in other respects to be quite attentive to historical accuracy.

Pontus was Cappadocian throughout the game. It became Greek much leter.
Well there's the bug where if you start as Pontus and let the mithridates event play out, your primary culture (cappadocian) will become non-integrated when you allow Mithridates to take control, meaning that you lose all levies and that's basically game over.

As for your point, even if you're correct, it's rather stupid, because under this system it can never become greek (pontic) even if you play a thousand years past the end date. So, I can start as Pontus, have a cappadocian primary culture (barring the aforementioned bug) allow Mithridates to take over and then I am the cappadocian pontus without the unique omens (Zeus Stratios and Selene) and or the unique territory modifiers for Sinope and Amaesia, or I could also fight off Mithridates and gain absolutely nothing for it. I'd still be Cappadocian either way, the difference is that I'd still be a tribe without the unique omens, modifiers, or regnal names.

I can start as Kios, and I can choose to flee to Paphlagonia, becoming Paphlagonian or in turn Cappadocian primary culture, I gain the unique flavor and modifiers, and this is your ideal route, and that's all fine.

Or I can invade Paphlagonia as Propontic Kios, eventually forming Pontus (without any of the unique flavor barring regnal names), and I can be a Propontic cultured Pontus, but even in this scenario I cannot be become Pontic (greek). It's bloody infuriating, because while I can be Propontic for some reason I cannot be Pontic and form Pontus. I can't start as Sinope or any of the other Pontic greek minors and form Pontus (even without any of the unique flavor).

As a side note, becoming Cappadocian or Paphlagonia removes any access to Greek military traditions, and there's no accessible way to get them back that isn't insanely convoluted. You have to integrate one of the very few levantine traditions cultures to get to Greeek traditions from Persian traditions, and that's very upsetting for Pontus trying to mix Greek and Persian influences.

I also encountered the issue of levies being all of the same type; it rather confused me that Aremorican levies consisted of 100% light cavalry, despite the culture tooltip saying otherwise and the traditions boosting archers and infantry. I thought it'd be a bug, but I didn't imagine it to be a troublesome Linux-only one.
Anyhow: I added some data to an existing bug report, but I'm not sure what is relevant here. Is there anything in particular you would like to know about, or files/logs you would like to have? (There's already a save file in the report.)
Wait, is that why my Kush levies are all archers? I'm playing my first Imperator game as well (on Mac) and just thought I was misunderstanding something about the levy system.

Just to be sure, here's my capital with horses and camels. The culture tooltip suggests I should get calvary out of that, right?
Screen Shot 2021-02-18 at 2.46.58 PM.png

But all my levies are archers:
Screen Shot 2021-02-18 at 2.47.18 PM.png

Is this a bug?

I could be mistaken, but I could have sworn that he became Consul after being a governor, then throughout his term as Consul he fought the Gallic Wars, then was ordered back to Rome by the Senate and in response brought his army with him which kicked off the civil war, and then he installed himself as Dictator (not Consul, which he already was) after winning that civil war... meaning he was fighting the Gallic Wars when he was Consul, but not when he was Dictator.

It's not like he was a Governor that had such a huge base of power and large legion that he forced Rome to submit to him becoming elected Consul. That similar event only happened when he was already Consul and didn't want to give up power when the time came (because why not, he was popular with the people for his populist policies as well as his victories in Gaul and had the backing of a rather large military force that had been with him for the previous decade).

I can now report that the 2.0.1 version and Heirs of Alexander DLC are available on GOG. Thanks to the help of our good colleagues there we were able to resolve the issue blocking launch. Thanks to all our GOG players for your patience while we got that dealt with.

2.0.1 should be compatible with prior version 2.0 saves, but in case you have any problems, you can always roll back your version via right click on Imperator in library -> properties -> betas -> choose the desired version.

We're glad to get this improved version in your hands in time for the weekend. Give it a spin and let us know your feedback, which is, as ever, crucial to our continuing development of the game. Have fun everyone.
Yeah, nice and all...but since this patch, the game gets stuck at the loading screen. Great Patch!

Yes, did verification, and, yes, deleted the game - installed it again, still...stuck at loading screen.

Guys, when you release a patch, can you take like, oh, two minutes, to see if it actually loads correctly?

Of course they did, and it seems to work fine for most people. You might want to approach the Helpdesk or bug report forum because there's clearly an issue on your end.

Did you read my message?

What does it say? Read it slowly and digest what it's saying.

Did you note the words "since this patch"?
