We don't do DDs for fixes, but there's plenty of AI improvements coming in 1.8.
Excellent! Does this include improvements to the naval / amphibious AI e.g. England not dropping off a useless 3K stack on the coast right next to a French doomstack...

AI needs improvements on transporting troops. EU3 AI could do it just fine, so why is EU4 AI so broken when it comes to transportation. England is an extremely useless nation in the hands of AI.
in EU 3!? you must be confusing the games. EU4 AI DOES tranport tropes, it just does it quite slowy, infact, you can see usually England transport troops to France during the HYW... only to get stack wipe...
EU4 AI does transport troops...just not as fast as a human.
please shut up you're hurting my brain
And it seems this was the reason I never liked colonising the Caribbeans lolThe EU3 AI was extremely adept at invading single province islands... and not much else.

Major improvements to invasion AI.
Ok replace the word "fixes" in my thread title with "Sexy new AI features" and I ask the same question. As I said in my first post if it's not a DD then a general post would do fine. I haven't seen any details about it. Will the frozen armies bug(s) be fixed? And by fixed I mean without the need to exit the game and go back in. As it stands pretty much every game gets affected by this bug, whether the player always realizes it or not (it's sometimes out of view). Same goes for Naval AI, though I have seen some of your posts on this.
Sure, I can wait for the patch notes, but I think it's important for people to remember there are some glaring bugs that haven't yet been fixed in this game and they shouldn't have the wool pulled over there eyes by all the marketing of new features in AoW. All these new bells & whistles being promised in AoW don't amount to jack if the AI is busted. I really think you guys should discuss this more, given that most of your AoW customers will be people who already own the game and have been having to tolerate these bugs for quite some time. I get the feeling, and I hope I'm wrong, that there are some marketing smoke & mirrors games being played.
Texas Longhorn, like most tuesdays. They have good burgers.
That's very good to hear. While it's often hard to reproduce it just from loading someone's save game that's reporting the issue (since it's usually fixed by quitting and reloading the game), it does happen in most every game. Generally you can watch Aragon closely and it happens very often with them, which I assume to be related to how their provinces are separated by sea. I don't know if the problem Aragon has is the same as the problem Sweden has sometimes, for example, but at least the symptoms appear the same. All causes of frozen armies we've been able to reproduce are fixed. This is not a 100% guarantee as there are many possible causes of this issue, but it *should* be history.
I wonder if I would like this place? Here's a pic from my favorite burger joint here in Texas. They even have a free shuttle to the cardiac ward at the local hospital.Texas Longhorn, like most tuesdays. They have good burgers.
Major improvements to invasion AI.
What about the AI's handling of naval attrition? Would be nice if they actually got attrition.Major improvements to invasion AI.
