Just shook my majic 8-ball and ask if a delay was in hoi4 future. It responded "very likely".

Q3 release is as good as official. Just look at the most recent interview : the devs themselves clearly do not bleive in a Q2 release.

Sadly, delay appears to be very likely.

Johan provided weekly DDs for HOI3 vanilla. But podcat and DR provided weekly DDs for TFH:

They did 9 normal DDs and a video diary in two months.

It is worrying that they are unable to just provide some basic information about diplomacy, logistics, combat, paras, amphibious landings, building specialist forces, air aces, forts, digging in, Div planner with different battalions, radar, elite units, river crossings, intelligence, building ships... A couple of screenshots and a brief description.

Not asking much, when they have pointed out they are not as small a company as they were when HOI3 was released. They should employ someone who's job is to do things like DDs if the project lead is too busy to do it. And as this is a "new" game with an aim to appeal to a wider market, there is nothing wrong with covering features which are similar or even identical to HOI3. It's SIX years since HOI3 was being developed and Johan was writing the original DDs. There is nothing wrong with repeating stuff now, that new/recent players may never have seen.

Exactly. Information is scarce an far-between, and this is not a good sign. Even on the topics already covered by DDs, much is still unknown to us. Just look at the Air Combat DD : it doesn't tell you how Air Combat works in the game, it's juste a vague description of "This how we envision Air Combat in HoI IV".
We still don't know anything about central parts of the game, like land combat or diplomacy.
So, either the devs know what they are doing, and they tell us nothing, which is really a bad PR move, or they actually don't know a lot of stuff, which is really worrying considering the announced release period is in three months.

And don't tell me writing one Word page worth of text and taking three screenshots is too time-consuming.

The devs know what they are doing, I have not had a single disappointment from HOI4 yet.
It is much harder to design a completely new game (HOI4) then building upon a previous design (EU4).
Maybe a screen shot of secret tech tree could be nice to see.

I know its obvious what military factors and ship yards produce, but what do civilian factories produce? Is it just consumer goods and maybe making other factories? Or does it represent factories that the player can't assign due to the war laws enacted? Thanks in advance.

Consumer goods are what you trade to get resource, they also build all buildings.
The higher mobilization law the less efficienct you can produce consumer goods but the more efficienct you can build buildings.

No, but I can see answering questions in the 20+ page thread that follows it is.
But yeah, still not knowing anything about basic mechanics like logistics indicates that the best case scenario probably is another extension of the release.

Unofficial I think we know pretty much about how the logistical system will work.

Well the Regiments in Jutland kept on fighting the Germans against impossible odds. If I remember correctly the order of cease fire didn't come until the Luftwaffe threatened to bomb civilian targets. The Danes did take out several armored targets with their locally produced 20 mm cannon which actually sparked German interest. We weren't completely useless :D

Of course we wouldn't have been able to completely stop them but I do believe my grandfather would have give them a fight for their money :happy: He was part of the resistance afterwards and managed to flee from political prisoner camps a few times. Its more than the Swedes did :glare:

True. I do not want to belittle the resistance that was there both in the first 6 hours and afterwards. Tbh as Denmark in the situation i actually feel we got the best out of the situation considering the fact that it would be impossible to resist due to size difference and especially due to terrain. Even though we still get a bit flag for just surrendering we did manage to rescue the jews, sink the navy in '43 and ofcourse also have an actual resistance.

Well it is yet some time left before Januari 1 2036:), the historical year for the game so paradox get a big penalty trying to develop something like it 20 years ahead of time:cool:

I was very annoyed that in HoI3 it didn't definitely destroy the province. A few weeks later, it was like if never had happened... :(

It did mess up the country instead, ww2 nukes was not that powerful so it is maybe rather realistic.

You probably have to use civilian factories to build up your country again so no more free repair of infrastructure.

WW2 nukes werent all that powerfull - damage they caused was slightly higher than major bomber raid.
