Also included is a shot of Germany’s production screen. It appears that they did run out of manpower at some point, but now do not have enough IC to actually produce anything.

As per the German screen shot the SU IC is one time and a half Germany any , what did the German do from 36 to 39?
Also they seem to be building some incoherent stuff like a motorized infantry with an artillery brigade!

Looks like the Germans not only ran out of MP but also out of money, IC and everything. If that´s due to the Allied bombardement only then it´s fairly unrealistic (and too easy for the Allies).

Bonuses were not included in that shot. This is what it looks like a few days later.

Yeah, maybe strategic bombing needs to be tweaked down a bit then.

...or Germany does not have proper build/enough fighters/interceptors to protect its skies.

If I am USSR player I would feel like cheater that Allies bombers halves German IC in '43. Maybe in summer of '44 or later it is somewhat acceptable, but in '43 it is too early.

From what we can see from screenshot, German AI did not put fighters/interceptors as building priority, but put garrisons at 1st place in building queue. But what if Germany has enough fighters/INT but does not use them well/properly. So we need brief Air comparision of TAC/STR on Allies and USSR vs GER fighters/INT.

Then (in Ger production) Art brigade on motorized or even on infantry is err... well you know - it does not fit German blitz strategy :D SP Art is much more preferable choice (actually for any majors if you ask me).

As for your AAR, x260bm, thank you very much. It is quite informative and detailed enough. You are doing your job perfectly. :)

You all have to remind yourself, that maybe it is not the latest version of the Beta and there has been a lot of bugfixing and balancing done since then. I dont think it is that clever to think of and propose balancing changes or depth analysis of the game parts on the basis of an AAR. :)

All the not so logical parts of the AAR can be a simple connection to a bug of that beta version.

Shouldn't that be more dependent on how your particual war fares rather than what happened in history? I.e. if you put up a stiff fight (compared to history) against the Germans, they'll have to invest more in attacking you, and get less resources from captured territory, meaning that they'd be vulnerable to the air war and two-fronts war earlier than in history.

Just to contribute my thoughts on the strategic bombing issue, as far as game play is concerned, if you don’t have everything you need before you declare war on the Soviet Union you are going to lose. The Allied bombing campaign is just an annoyance. The repair province cost is mainly there to prevent players from grounding their air forces until the Bitter Peace event is triggered. As far as land units verses air units in the production queue, Germany really needs both at this point in the game.

The problem is that a human Germany would probably divide his remaning IC equally among Infrastructure repairing (of key German provinces) and AA and Interceptors production, while focusing on defense in Russia. But I guess we have to wait and see: maybe Germany has already stopped the air onslaught and will recover a bit.

Would be nice to hear some thoughts about it.

Also they seem to be building some incoherent stuff like a motorized infantry with an artillery brigade!

Bear in mind that in AoD such 'powergaming' what is typical in HoI2 (which can be abstracted that only arm + inf are useful, every other ground unit can basically be ignored) might not be feasible and the AI is not probably made to be such 'powergamer' in the first place.

And then presuming dev diaries so far have been correct, the game also features noticably longer combat so if you have E.G. 15 divisions vs 9 divisions it doesn't last for six hours, it lasts for several days or if weather or such are being annoying, even up to one week ;)

The AI never was into "powergaming" in HoI2. It builds tank destroyers etc.

Still, builidng MOT with ART brigades is stupid. ;)

I for one would really like to see screenshots and statistics of how the pacific war between Japan and America has been going. I've never, ever seen the AI handle that correctly- not even in all of the mods. The only times I've seen Japan fight that war sensibly is when I or another human player has controlled it.

Does Japan still send lone, priceless CVs, unaccompanied into the middle of the Pacific to be sunk instantly?

What is wrong with motorized infantry and artillery?

Speed, the only purpose of building motorized is their speed, why diminish it with an artillery brigade when u can add self propelled artillery? I don't thing the IC different is big.
