This seems to be the case in my game as well, it would be good to know if this is really the case.

I got the impression all stats are generated randomly based on a bell curved distribution.

I've noticed a lot of random clusters though, like parents having seven daughters, or five sons.

With the decreased fertility assassins are very necessary. Marry, no kid within the first two years, then of with her head.

With the release of DV, there is a new file in the save games folder, called "current" Check the modified property of this file, and you'll notice that it is modified at the end of every month. May not be strictly an autosave, but the end of month pause is definitely because of the game writing to this file.
Anyone else having this file in the save games folder ?

So far I had one of these crashes in about 100 years. But, even though it's not reproducible, I reported, because it's a problem that's happening to all of us, and Paradox should be aware of this. We pay for working products, and the fact that a problem isn't reproducible straight away doesn't take the responsibility off developers' shoulders.

crashes

I like the gameplay but DV has definitely made the game less stable for me. XP SP2, AMD processor ~ 2Ghz. I have been getting game freezes - no message no nothing, just totally unresponsiveness. This is not occurring at the end of month cleanup. Which would definitely be better done on an annual basis.

Well, the tags have not been changed so it is pretty clear since the Kingdom of Germany and the Papacy have a tag of the same level. The same goes for Byzantium of course. It's not so much a bug as a limitation of the engine I guess.

What a crappy idea I sure hope they don't take this path. ;) No Offense Veld you're a good guy an all, but, you're wanting to restrict the game and organize it and I'd rather have the chaos and let what will be will be kay sur rah sur rah. ;)

I agree, though I think it should be based on which region the title is located in (I know that's probably what you mean, but one could take it as pledging to a country with a province in that region, which would make them bridgeheads to conquer territories. You get one province, you get the whole Kingdom).

I liked the suggestion in the other thread - either the 'natural' liege or an adjacent liege. Also I'd like to the see the AI force vassalisation sometimes - right now it always seems to either wipe someone off the map or accept something trivial - but nothing in between.

HOnestly didnt that happen though? Or at least the other way around. I am pretty sure El Cid, had muslim allies, or fought for them on occassion.

I have to throw my agreement in with the people asking for more realistic pledging, whether it is in a defined geographical area or a strong neighbor. When I saw the Norman Duke of Sicily pledge to the King of Sweden, I think I couldn't suspend disbelief any longer.

One thing i think would be good to include is a limit in range to who will accept being displo-vassalized and who will ask to be diplo-vassalized.

Doesn't mean you can't have sweden with land in Morocco...just the Moroccons will never wilingly pledge to a Swedish King, under any circumstance.
