Arrggg.... Those terrible vassals break away events.
Worst addition to the game ever! Didn't work properly either.

Oh, how I hate them! They make no sense in most of cases, and are more an annoyance than real trouble...Nikolai said:Arrggg.... Those terrible vassals break away events.Worst addition to the game ever! Didn't work properly either.

Well, it often happens that a vassal breaks allegiance, and then, after a couple of months, asks to be your vassal again(if you're low on BB). That just keeps happening again and again. I rarely have to actually fight to get him/his lands back.Byakhiam said:Why they don't make sense and how would they be real trouble?

Pellucid said:Actually, there is a (possibly non-canon) book available that gives little blurbs about other houses (which is where the developers of Dune 2 got the Ordos). You'd probably have to make up an awful lot of details, but you could get the names and general tendencies from it (and I don't know what it's called, so you'd also have to find it first, haha).
Drakken said:The problem is that we know only a few Major Houses. The Landsraad is supposed to have hundreds of Houses, both Major and Minor, that we do not know. Herbert used only the Atreides, the Harkonnen, and the Corrino.

Personal relations anyoneGothmog said:Seconded. It should be possible to get rebellious vassals back into the fold without crushing them, but it shouldn't be handled like that.

Marrying children or relatives wouldn't work though. I was referring towards that a rebellious vassal who hates your guts (on a personal level), will hardly pledge the next day, while your vassal fanboi will never rebel in any caseVeldmaarschalk said:Marrying your daughter to a vassal will make him more loyal to you, already![]()

Yep, but the marshall tends to be in my own court, right?
Certainly that practice did not end with Rome.Gothmog said:Well, that's not what I was thinking about, but as to the current situation, we might as well take a page out of roman history and marry off sisters/daughters as peace offerings.![]()
