If your like me, and need hard numbers in order to feel confident in you decisions 
You find this helpful:
Its a number crunch look at the relative Fire and Shock values of the three branches of land units as tech level develop up to tech level 28.
At the end, I totaled the offensive and defensive values for use as a crude comparison tool as to what each unit is bringing to the battle field.
In calculating these number I did not use all the unit types available, only the ones that added the most to their category.
In some instances I used units with lower stats because their stats in the other area were so high that it didn't make sense NOT to use them.
You should not consider this to be a recommendation towards any particular unit. This should only be considered a tool for comparison.
