Indeed, this is likely caused by having -debug_mode active in your launch options.
Actually this raises the question: why can't we get the option of disabling the debug windows when the game is run on debug mode?

I understand that due to engine/multiplayer issues opening the console is only doable when the game is run on debug mode. However, some of us like to use console comands (be it for roleplaying, fixing the map or just cheating) and having having to restart the game to remove the debug windows is a pain.

I hate answers like 'there is a mod for it' because it does not solve anything or answer your question but there is basically a mod for it and if not it can be modded easily. I know that CK3 has one. Can't understand why same like you but just saying there is a solution if it bothers you
