I think the govt in excile idea is ok but would like to see units in the field not just dissapear on annexation. Depending on where they are and if they are part of an alliance they could go to allied control, turn into partisans/militia or demobilize.

I just hope the situation in Western Europe after Germany occupied it is simulated in a good manner. Holland/Belgium weren't annexed per se but their respective governments capitulated and their armed forces stood down from the conflict. In HOI2 you can evacuate all their forces of these nations and keep them ifghting for you even after this has happened. An exploit that should be prevented through events.

Also large proportions of the French navy quite often stays in the war. I think there is some random factor of what ships go to Vichy and what ships stay with the Free French but I hope the Free French fleets wont be as large as in HOI2.

one problem, depending on how correctly paradox folows the history when making the scenarios.
eg. didn't Czechoslovakia and Poland fought a war over some disputed areas? in 1920? that is not that far from WW2, so when the Czechoslovaks get dowed by germany, they would not have any where to retreat since they had bad relationship whit poland due to disputes, Hungary had claims on their territory that made bad relationships, and austia was under german influence and last they where landlocked.
then the exile, would any country cared to take them in? small frendly countrys didn't have anything to spare, the allies gave german free hand in taking them, so i wouldn't tink Czechoslovakia would be so happy to go in exile there.

so there should also be some restriction to who and where a annex country can exile, and depending on situation how many loyals follow the exile.

I said IF Poland and Czechoslovakia were allied.
It was just an example.
But just to get another one:
Say Belgium and France are allied, and Belgium of overrun.
The Belgian Units retreat into France, of course.
Once Belgium is annexed (say they lost their overseas empire another way), those units should fight on, not dissapear.

sorry, it was not my intention to try to prove your point wrong, yes they should fight on :)

Just ally with Portugal before the war and puts a few divisions in Africa right next to the last French VP province, Vichy fires and then take that province, end of French fleet (or at least as close as you can get in HoI, lol).
