Except that it would be dictating internal Imperial policies. If France wants a free Netherlands, it should rather demand the provinces so that it can release them itself.

Oh well, now I found the treaty. And read it completely (page 4 in the AAR if no new amendments has been made).
Funny, it was all about securing the Balkan border and the dividing of Hungary. You guys have really been feeding propaganda to me, if this was the real treaty there are absolutely no problems in intervening in Italy, or supporting Venetian expansion. Let me quote:
- Balance of power is subject to interpretation, and Venice expanding in Italy can be interpreted as having a healthy effect for the BoP in the region
- There was no issues about meddling with internal affairs
- Warmongering was looked down upon
- War erupted nevertheless, battles between Austria and the Ottoman Empire were at minimum.
- An overall white peace can be considered honorable.
Conclusion: ToV was honored completely, and it would have allowed even more actions by the Ottoman Empire. Stating that it was violated is just propaganda.
Oh, but it was internal affairs of the Holy Roman Empire, since Genoa was a part of it. All the Emperor did was protect his realm from foreign invasion. By siding with Venice, the Ottomans were effectively meddling with internal affairs...

I suggest careful reading of juv95hrn's piece on the ongoing great conflict from Venice's point of view. I consider it an excellent example of stating his views and opinions, while keeping it all in character and civil. More of that!

As some people can't seem to differentiate between the game and the forum rules I resign from the game. Apparently I am only furthering my own agenda, am not impartial, abusing power and whatever more when I am just doing my job. It's a situation I've grown used to so I don't really give a rat's arse about it but that doesn't mean I am going to spend my free time playing games with such people

Hmm, i dont think it has to come that far. We could still warn a few people and not let this go inte the tread. It should be discussed over ICQ. Come on BiB, if you leave, perhaps the whoole campaign will be closed! Noone wants to start over for the fourth time! Too much AAR and work has already been put into this.Originally posted by BiB

There are three solutions I can offer:
1) Red talks with me in a civil manner and I will happily try to reason all out with him.
2) Red is out of the game and people stop thinking it is done because I play BB or any other stuff.
3) I terminate the campaign.
1 is the prefered. 2 is okay. I dislike 3 but as it seems now some people are very keen on ruining the game for others through endless arguments.
BiB has only done the right thing deleting this whole discussion. I also participated in this and I am grateful BiB deleted my posts too. There are some people who play the game whilst still having fun. I want that and I am never keen on winning but playing.

It would be a real shame if the game finished, for one I would miss Onslaughts deeply, and increasingly, wacky AAR posts.
I am sure people can settle their differences, it seems to be a culmination of things that has spiralled out of control. I am sure that everyone can take a deep breath and come back on board. Afterall we are a small community and we will all have to play together again if we want things to happen.

And I want to make it clear I am not part of this really. It is Red´s decision not mine.
I hope BiB will reconsider - It would be a real shame if some careless/thoughtless remarks by nameless people caused this game to fold. One thing though, I do not want these endless arguements to continue week in week out, otherwise I'll reluctantly withdraw from the game. It just isn't any fun for me to witness this.
If people would put half the stuff as In Character AAR posts it wouldn't be so bad and wouldn't make it personal. Lets hope everyone does take a step back and promotes a friendly funfilled atmosphere.
