Sorry, hangover from watching Gustav Adolf II beat up my poor troops last night. The 150k of Brandenburg troops rampaging freely behind him didn't help any.

If I would RP the King of Spain as someone who would happily let go a bunch of rebels, that also happen to be heretics, and just let them steal some colonies too in the progress, I'd be the shittiest RP'ed Spain in the history of shittily RP'ed Spains.

If only you RPed protection of Pope half as good . Instead it ended in Spain taking Papal land, and the only RP excuse for this is 150 k Spanish soldiers under Alva and 500 Spanish ships under Farnese were affraid of 40 k Venetian soldiers and 300 ships under considerable weaker leaders, affraid so much that you quickly took Papal land. Only temporary, we found ouot later, it would be edited back.

Well, editing back poor RP play is not good for itself. But here we had bigger problem. Venice with her best general and siege expert ever was kept hostage of this untill this general died. All that during the period of truce with Spain and clear RP lack of support to Pope from Spain. Best chance for Venice to achieve her goal passed because of... what was it? Technicality of making peace with AI? Huge problem for Venice, but the important thing is Spain is now connected with Austria in an easy way .

Considering the Pope will still own and control all the lands he had before when the next session start, I think I did quite a fine job whereas had Venice had its way, almost every valuable it had would have been stripped from it and incorporated into Venice.

And it was Venice that was supposed to protect it, it was the Pope's ally. The famed Republican League and all. Instead it made plans to carve it up while betraying and selling out its other allies. Every possible future ally of Venice should take note of how Venice treats allies.

You didn't lose any chance for some poor bla bla reason. You DOWed me and lost, that's why you lost your chance. Had you won, you could have taken anything you wanted from your "ally", the Pope. But instead I beat you and thus stopped you.

And I then did the gruesome thing of giving up Austria because I figured it'd be better for the game. Oh, I'm so evil Well, I promise I will remain being so evil. But anyway, welcome back, Barney! I like bantering with you but I do hope you really don't believe your own propaganda

couldn`t resist for analyzing some losses:
Russia: (144+111=255) inf * 3 + (184+111=295) cav*8 = 3 125 ducats
OE: (226+159=385) inf * 11 + (284+155=439) cav*21 = 13 454 ducats
Spain: (101+316=417) inf * 7 + (74+120=194) cav*12 = 5 247 ducats

Russia = 3125/~150 monthly income (including census taxes) = 26 months
OE = 13 454/~190 monthly income = 71 months
Spain = 5 247/~410 monthly income = 13 months

The Turkish military expenses is indeed hugh. :wacko:
For 13.4K i could surely hire any military power to fight my wars for me

Haven't I mentioned many times Doge of Genoa, a formal leader of the Republican League, made many mistakes, ammong which taking monarchies into the REPUBLICAN League were major ones? Pope was never considered a member of Republican League, but capricious diplomat jumping in and out of many alliances, that just happened to enter some sort of alliance with Doge of Genoa.

As for DOWing and losing against Spain, I DOWed only because of RP reasons (protection of members of Republican Alliance, Genoa and Tuscany). Regardless of the results of this war, Venice and Spain had truce after it was over and Spain would have just finnished her war against Pope. Finnished war = not protecting. If the result wasn't "a technicality of making AI accept peace", Venice would have a perfect opportunity to take from Pope what she wanted .

With which techs? With which land? As it was: HRE and Italy? Too much trouble IMO. Why not just "fix" Holland a bit?

Checked arround.. interesting game certainly. Two questions:
1) Do I need to download anything? Mentions of Age of Imperialism and special events certainly ringed a bell.
2) Does Brandenburg have any missions to fulfill for next game? Just to keep myself busy

lol, I really aim a bad briefer. Yes you need to dl and install Hive's AOI mod. Fal will distribute the custom events package before the session.

As for events, again Fal will post those a few days before and you can state whether or not you intend to accept the mission.

I've decided to gradually retire from Eu2, or at least eventually limit it to one game a week. Missing the last week of games made me realize that I wouldn't really "miss" them that much, while it of course tends to suck up a lot of time and take my focus off more important things. I'm not going to be continuing with this game(or starting, you could say). Sorry to Fal and everyone for the trouble this will cause; I know you're already tight on players, but I have to start budgeting my time better now.
