Most of the stuart kings were protestant. It may be viable but it takes a huge ammount out of an RP game. They are supposed to be the rebel outcast of europe.

Anyway, I still don't get how this is so crap for the game, things evolve differently, so what? Old dynamics change, new ones pop up. Just as much chance for RP, just of a different type. What is so bad if we end up with another rebel outcast in Europe? And what would be so bad if we end up with Venice taking the spot of Holland as a major coloniser?

SInce we will have a new player why dont we give them the option to be protestant with all their provs converted? It might be easier to find one that way too.

England has MANY possible ways of development, so you should find the one that suits you. Currently catholic England is Spanish pet project, helped with Spanish gold and pressure on English competition (Venice just sold England her part of North America south of St. Lawrence on Spanish demmand).
It is always possible to go Protestant through events or to conquer Scotland and go Reformed... But be careful with those, because Spain will soon have Felipe on the throne, and we all know what he thought about heretics :wacko: .
