I have but a simple question.

In Hivvie's start game Lithuania is whole and intact.

In the scenario that we are going to be using, Russia owns at least half of old Lithuania.

Why be this?

Good question. It's most certainly not accurate.

About the AAR rewards, I've said it on icq and I'll say it now: +3 basetax is a ridiculously uber award. I see it as nothing else but FAL caving into Barnius lobbyism (Barnius is, after all, known for his cunning and sharp tongue), and trying to disguise it as an AAR reward.

I wasn't gonna bring it up in the thread untill I saw the very vague and dodgy explanation for it. If it had been as a scenario improvement, I could understand it - but as an AAR reward?

What happens if Cheech writes an equal AAR? Will he then get the CoT or mighty fort he lobbied for? I just think you should keep the AAR rewards a tad smaller, and equal to all.

200 ducats for Spain is like 2 month's income. So as Brandenburg you should get like 27,83 ducats :D

the only other solution is reducing Lissabon's base tax ;)

but aye, over the ages (untill ~1920) it does amount to 2400 ducats

For what is basically cut and paste work.

But sure. If this sets the standard for AAR writing, I'll also start mashing 100 lines of cut and paste inbetween every line of ACTUAL GAME-RELATED INFORMATION.

If you think this, then you haven't paid enough attention to what I wrote.

Since I explained exactly the same at ICQ to you, this statement annoys me. You knew why I gave Barnius this reward: for his AAR.

What happens if Cheech writes an equal AAR? Will he then get the CoT or mighty fort he lobbied for? I just think you should keep the AAR rewards a tad smaller, and equal to all.

The AARs will be linked to RP reasons. so a Cot somewhere is very unlikely. Venice *did have* the largest shipyard of the timeperiod, so it has some justification. Barnius *did* the most AAR and RP work of everyone at that time, so a big reward (also to push other AAR activity) was justified.

That said, it seems that everyone is against rewards of this magnitude, so this won't happen again. Point taken.

Before we actually have played, I am okay with C/P work, after we start playing I won't reward such material anymore.

Kinda my point. 200 ducats for BB is a substantial sum, while for Spain it's pocket change and your AAR really was only like 50 words longer :p , so yes I am canvassing for at least 100-200 ducats for the poor margravate in lew of the expanded PAR.

There was plenty of time to complain about Venetian shipyard thing :)

But I don't want to be a cause of problems. Possible solution is to lower the base tay in Cyprus by 3. Or just return it all to as it was, no big deal.

News from the Bank of Venice: New Loans Available

Apparently English Treasury miscalcuated herself when taking two huge 750 d loans at the same time. The Bank of Venice was kind enough to cancell her one for a small cancellation fee of 100 d, because of our good will and hopes for the future similar cooperation.

That beeing said, Bank of Venice now again has funds available for loans, although preferable not of that size, should someone be interested. The terms will now also include the loan termination agreement that will enable both seccurity of Bank capital and financial stability of the client.

Probably in between of all those changes a small mistake occured: Venetian explorer loan was reduced to 200 d instead of 750 d. English one is still correct.

Nothing wrong with asking for stuff before game, ive done it plenty myself i know :).

I would like to ask though that we dont fill the forum with disputes after the game has started. That is not disputes of this type. New order for example has more whining to the GM on the forum that diplomacy. Its really annoying to check out a thread that has just been updated, only to see its someone whining about so stupid issue they have. I ask that any disputes over game issues are done over ICQ. Leave the forum for diplomacy id say.

Perhaps a roleplaying only thread would be good? Speaking in character only for posts. We could of course use the aar thread for this.

Right, I had to do the loans again to prevent the ID conflict, so that's why.

There will be one more small scenario update anyway, since I need to edit in rewards for Spain and Brandenburg :)
