I have both. Can they be played separately? I have Icons on my desktop for both. The screen on DC gets jumbled up but P doesn't. P doesn't appear to have functions like auto-trading route or bombarding ports.

I know with Steam there are seperate so I would assume that they are stand alone games.
Privateer and Pirate Bay are both standalone expansions. Autotrading only works for ports that you own, and since you don't own any ports in Privateer..no autotrade.
Odd, I thought P was stand-alone so I uninstalled EIC before installing P. The install looked for EIC so I had to re-install it. I got it from Gamersgate.
Privateer and Pirate Bay are expansions of the original game. you must keep EIC loaded to play them.
