Soviet military leaders

Also thinking of giving an additional
leader trait - Winter specialist to the
following Soviet generals

1) Participants of the successful Soviet winter
counter-offensive at Moscow in December 1941 -
- February 1942

Kurochkin commanded the Northwestern Front
Konev commanded the Kalinin Front
Kostenko commanded the Southwestern Front
(Zhukov who commanded the Western Front
already has Winter specialist)

2) Participants of the successful Soviet winter
counter-offensive at Stalingrad in November 1942 -
- February 1943

Vatutin commanded the Southwestern Front
Rokossovsky commanded the Don Front
Yeremenko commanded the Stalingrad Front

Also the Soviet general Chuikov who commanded the
62nd Army which successfully defended the city
of Stalingrad itself should be given one more leader
trait - Urban specialist (he already has Winter specialist)

Update

The scenario has been updated.
New features.

The land forts effeciency for Switzerland raised to 150 %.
Now Finland and Switzerland have it 150 %. All other
nations still have the decreased land forts effeciency - 80 %.

2 Chinese militia have been replaced with 2 HQs. Also the
Chinese got 4 more air units namely interceptors.

Dontiz and von Nordeck have a new leader trait - blockade
runner because those German submariners were damn good
at sneaking out to the Atlantic.

Erwin Rommel has a new trait - desert fox.

The following Soviet military leaders who were in charge
of the Russian Army groups during the successfull winter
counter-offensives at Moscow (December 1941-February 1942)
and Stalingrad (November 1942-February 1943) have the winter
specialist trait, - Kurochkin P.A., Konev, Kostenko, Vatutin and
Eremenko.

The French general Juin has the commando trait instead of
panzer leader because he is famous as a commander of Maroccan
mountaineers not armor (this improvement suggested by Myth).

The US general MacArthur who utterly failed at defending the
Philippines despite having had at least half a decade to prepare
it for war and who was defeated by an enemy with fewer men
than he had has max skill 6 instead of 9. Also he's been deprived
of the logistic wizard and defensive doctrine (this improvement
suggested by Myth and Phoenix Dace).

The Japanese admiral Mikawa Gunichi has max skill 8 instead of 5
and current skill 4 instead of 2. Also 2 new traits - blockade runner
and spotter (this improvement suggested by Phoenix Dace).
Mikawa is famous for his performance in the battle of Savo Island
where he used a force of 7 aging cruisers and one destroyer in a
skilled nighttime attack against far superior Allied forces (9 cruisers
and 8 destroyers). In that attack he managed to concentrate his
forces, isolate and destroy the enemy, sinking 4 heavy cruisers and
damaging 3 more Allied ships in exchange for moderate damage to 2
of his own.

The Japanese admiral Yamaguchi Tamon has max skill 8 instead of 5
and current skill 5 instead of 2. Also 2 new traits - superior tactician
and spotter (this improvement suggested by Phoenix Dace).
He helped to direct the attack on Pearl and the raids into the Indian
Ocean which so badly defeated the British Asian Fleets that they
were effectively a non-factor through the rest of the war at the
cost of only 2 dozen Japanese planes.

The Japanese admiral Fukudome has max skill 8 instead of 6 and
current skill 3 instead of 2 (this improvement suggested by Phoenix
Dace). Fukudome famous for being an adviser on how to organize
the Japanese Self-Defence force after WW II.

The Japanese air commander Arima who was the inventor of the
kamikaze attack, supported at Midway on the Hosho, a successfull
carrier captain and land air wing commander at Leyte, has max skill
6 instead of 5 and current skill 2 instead of 1. Also a new trait -
- superior tactician (this improvement suggested by Phoenix Dace).

The Japanese admiral Nishimura. The victor in battle of Java Sea
against scattered Allied forces. Has max skill 6 instead of 5 and
current skill 3 instead of 2. Also 2 new traits - superior tactician
and spotter (this improvement suggested by Phoenix Dace).

The Japanese admiral Tanaka. Commander of the Tokyo Express
runs to Guadalcanal, routinely avoided traps that should have meant
his destruction, victor at battle of Tassafaronga, where he used
8 overloaded destroyers to defeat a force of 5 cruisers and 4
destroyers, sinking 1 heavy cruiser and crippling 3 more. Has skill
4 instead of 2. Also 2 new traits - blockade runner and superior
tactician (this improvement suggested by Phoenix Dace).

The Japanese admiral Toyoda has max skill 3 instead of 6 and
current skill 0 instead of 3. Deprived of superior tactician (this
improvement suggested by Phoenix Dace). Toyoda's plans were
suicidal, inept and always resulted in crippling failure.

Would be good to have a bunch of events for game balance
and stimulating players to act historically.

Something like, for example,

a) France experiences some negative events in
March-April 1940 if Germany doesn't ahistorically
invade France, Belgium and Nethterlands or
even Switzerland before May 1940 and on the
other hand some positive for France events if
Germans start the invasion in the West too early;

b) Some negative events for Japan if Japs manage
to get too deep into China as well as some
negative events for China if they are too
successfull against Japanese before, let's say 1945;

c) Some negative events for Germany and/or positive
events for USSR in case of ahistorically early Barbarossa
(before May 1941);

and so on.

But such events should look reasonable and realistic

I guess it is about time that I got around to taking a look at this. I notice that you incorporated your idea about making Norway mineral rich, to make it more attractive. As I said, I took your idea for the EIR mod, and in order to reflect Norway strategic importance as a conduit for raw materials I increased Germany's trade relationship with Sweden if Narvik is Axis controlled. This in combination with the event system I created for British inteventionism in Norway should make Norway more attractive to the Axis.

Another thing I did which might interest you, is that I set up an events train that triggers if Italy makes an early DOW on Yugp or Greece.

UK and France get a slider move for an early Italian DOW on Yugo or Greece, when it is not in Axis. Also Italy gets 10 belligerence, and the UK "Guarnatees the independence of Greece" event fires immediatly. One way or the other, UK is in position to DOW Italy immediatly, and naturally. As a result of the British DOW Italy enter Axis, and so far in all my playtesting Turkey does not enter the war against Italy, and the Balkan clusterfuck is avoided.

Also, it is designed so that the "Break the Pact of Steal" coup event happens to Yugo if UK DOW's Italy, and within a short period of time Allies should also be able to bring Yugo into the alliance.

I am pretty interested in what you have done to make China tougher. Did you add more units, or play with the ai? I'd be intrested to know, because short of piling on units, I still have not been able to keep China alive for more than 6 to 9 months against an experienced Japanese player. Basicly so far all I have done is give China more IC and put it an extra level up in all technology brackets. Still... its a piece of cake.

Guys, I stopped working on this Mod very long ago.
It didn't attract a lot of interest of the HOI community
and I decided it was a waste of time to make something
like that if anyway the overwhelming majority prefer to
do Vanilla. All stuff related to this Mod is not available
anymore. But if you can find some interesting ideas for
your Mod, I'd be glad if you use something of this
