Where and how many depots should I build, also

how much does a depot increase your manpower?
does it mater where you build them
should I build as many as possible (playing as sweden)

Is it just me are all other builds worthlesss?

Many thanks

I believe it's +10% manpower per development level, but I could be wrong. So getting that might still be useful in your best provinces or if you take a lot of loans. As for depots, I guess you can place them almost everywhere because of their low cost, but it's not actually worth it to put them on provinces with 0 MP unless they're important strategically and you want to place a large army there.

Place depots in any regions with manpower, and in strategic positions.
Ports are great source of income, if you have war with country with less navy. Just block them and earn money from blockade (but first you need navy).

But you can upgrade the Ports to Major Ports. Have Ports and Major Ports the same modifier thing or have you missed that? (I hope I don't have wrong now and the Major Ports don't exist)

Major port is lvl 3 harbour, so major port = harbour_level x3.
Similar thing with forts, lvl 3 have have this same effect as lvl 1, but multiple by three.
