Hello fellow Universalis players.This being my first attempt at writing one of these.I`d be happy for some feedback.some of the province names may seem a bit odd as i have the norwegian version.Here goes....
Jan 1492
My first meeting with King Hans after being appointed as his advisor.
Hans expressed his desires to become one of the major forces in Europe.
Denmark,as it is today,is too small to make an impact on important
foreign affairs. "The other big states like France and Spain sees us
as a little outcast far north"."I want you to make sure that Denmark
grows both economically and military" I nodded and put on a brave face,
but in my mind i was thinking that this was going too be tough.
The day after this meeting,a very fine day indeed(was it an omen?),i
strengthened the standing army in both Skaane and Jylland with 5000 men
each.I knew that the south of Denmark was most important,both econimical
and military.I also appointed a counsellor in sjælland to make sure
that the citizens paid good money to live in a good country. I also arranged
for Hans`s nephew to marry the russian tsar`s daughther,strenghtening my
bonds with our powerful neighbours.
Feb 1492
My scouts reported that approx 7000 russians were sighted at the borders of
finnmark.Nothing to be alarmed about i thought,they are our friends.
Okt 1492
News from Europe learns me that Austria has invaded Boehmen.I long for
the day when they hear about my conquereous moves into some pathetic
enemys homeland.
Jan 1493
My economic masterplan is extended as i appoint a counsellor in Skaane too
Feb 1493
Today i met with the russian tsar.Indeed a great and noble leader.Together
we agreed on an alliance with the intention of helping each other in the
case of enemy invasion.
May 1493
I have seen the signs.The King`s mood swings from depression too furios anger.
He is constantly blabbing about the austrians and how well their war against
Boehmen are going.He does`nt sleep well and blames it on everyone.This
calls for action,so i decide too invade the hanseatics.Full strenght.
The first hanseatic war is a fact.I decide to call upon my newfound ally.
He is most eager to assist.
July 1493
The war is going well.We are besieging Holstein.
From bloodshed to happiness!We arrange a royal marriage with Pskov.
Aug 1493
The King is ecstatic as he hears that Austrias war campaign has given them
SIlesia,Sudeten and Moravia from Boehmen as peace settlement.
Bad news though,we lost a battle in Skaane.
Okt 1493
Another war breaks out in Middle east.Those heathens!Turkey attacks the
mameluks."If we could get there we would have a piece of the pie too",our
beloved king says in his usual "king of the world" frenzy.
Nov 1493
Kicked the hanseatics out of Skaane.Another battle is lost in Oestlandet.
Des 1493
"Polen-Lithunia has attacked the german order" our king says in a high-pitch
tone.Europe are in flames!
Apr 1494
We have taken control over holstein,we move on to their capital mecklemburg.
Jan 1495
The german order pays 160 gold in their peace arrangement with Polen-Lithunia.
Mar 1495
We conquer Mecklemburg!!Soon after a, delegation from the hanseatics offers us
180 gold and Holstein as a peace offer.The King says "no friggin way!i love
this war!maybe if we continue, the spaniards will hear about our war and fear
us?".I advise him that our good soldiers are tired and that the hanseatics
are winning more battles than they should.At last he give in and we are at
peace with the hanseatics.In all this time we never saw one of our russian
allies coming to aid.That is alarming.

The war between Turkey and the mameluks ends.Mameluks give Lebanon and
Nussabyia to the turks.
At the same time Portugal goes to war against Spain."oooh,how does anyone
dare to attack spain?",Hans says after he heard the news.
Sept 1495
Sweden goes to war against Portugal."our vassals dare to do that!?,and we are
at peace!attack the hanseatics!",Our King spurts out.I have to remind him
that breaking a peace agreement could seriously damage our diplomatic
relations.He follows my advice.
may 1496
The war against Portugal and Spain is over.Portugal has to surrender Oporto
to Spain.The King,surprisingly,has no comment to this.
Okt 1496
Royal marriage with England.I seek to strenghten our bonds with the english,
as they can come an important piece in the play later.
Des 1496
Royal marriage with Polen-Lithunia.The King is awed at the reception, as
the polish king tells about his campaign against the german order.
Apr 1497
Persia invades Turkey."those heathens again!" is our kings comment.
Apr 1498
Russia attacks Kazan.We agree to help.Then we realize that we cannot
get our men to the front!So russia have to kill of the kazan barbarians
themselves.But after all,they did`nt come to help us either.
jun 1498
The war between Persia and Turkey ends.Persia takes Nussabyin from Turkey.
jul 1498
Poland invades Kurland.
Oct 1498
After a quick campaign,Poland annex Kurland.
Nov 1498
7000 volunteers to our army in the capital."this mean we can start a war?"
our king says in anticipation.
Des 1498
The Russian campaign against Kazan ends.Kazan pays compensation to Russia.
Apr 1499
Royal marriage with both Austria and Spain.Our King is actually drooling
as the austrian king tells about his campaign against boehmen.
may 1500
France goes to war against england."this is going to be big!",says king hans.
jun 1501
Spain reportedly goes to war against some empire on a continent,the aztecs.
"this is unfair,i guess they are all weak and havent even invented swords.
Spain will become very powerful fighting this easy prey.Why can`t we attack
some big continent?",says our worthy king.
Apr 1502
The second hanseatic war.
We attack the hanseatic again.The masses don`t like it.Stability is plummeting.
Russia joins our couse(but will they appear?).The hanseatics calls upon their
powerful allies England,Cyrenika and Portugal.They agree to help!!Big trouble.
Nov 1502
The war is going suspiciously well,even though we have to quell some rebellions.
It seems that England and Portugal are too busy in their campaigns against
France.We encountered some trouble from the cyrenikan army.5000 invaded Holstein
,but were soon expelled.It doesn`t seem like the russians are coming this time
either.I`m glad the alliance ends in 1508.

The war against the hanseatics ends.We get Eastern Pommerania as a peace settlement.
"This war stuff is great,our empire is expanding",our noble leader proclaims.
