Is it only my imagination, or does the add culture, German, make them awfully powerful? I play with myself (sp, I mean), so I have no idea of how it affects mp, but it really makes Denmark explode in my games now.
They were always a bit pesky bofore, but generally a German state would appear and keep them nicely North of Germany proper.
Now they can hold those german provinces much easier, and seem to have developed a taste for eating as much of Germany as Austria will allow them. Whcih combined with their occasional gobbling of Sweden seems to make them Uber.
I know that the revolt risk is harsh for them after the event, but most their revolts I see happen in a freezing cold province and last about a season before the rebel armies attrit to nothing.
Anyone else notice this alarming trend? Maybe it is just my Danes.

It's just your Danes, I've never really played Denmark, but the AI is not good enough to sucumb the rebels, I once saw a Scnadinavian Denmark tared because of this, it only makes them stronger in the event that there is no strong German player (Brandenburg/Prussia/Austria) then Denmark could be a real threat, but It won't ever happen.

In the hands of a human player german culture makes Denmark really powerful, but when it's controlled by AI i always see it get teared apart by rebels, making and independent Gotland, Norway and Skåne. sometimes they also have Jutland defect to Holstein or whoever controls that province.

Does having German culture encourage them to attack German territories more than usual or simply allow them to hold on to territories?
It only gives them advantages to keep on the territories by removing a +1% revoltrisk (I'm not sure) and removes the -30% tax penalty for wrong culture

+1 RR at peace, +2 RR at war. Also, missionaries are more efficient in state-culture provinces. And higher manpower.
