Isn't Shamabhala in the Himalayan foothills? Does that mean you'll be whacking Delhi soon?

ConcordantNexus said:No he means me - the not-quite ally, mostly because I keep getting nervous and biting his hand (metaphorically speaking).
Whatcha'll lookin' at? It's not like he feeds me!
David E. Cohen said:Not-quite ally. That is, apparently, putting it mildly. As to feeding you, is Bidar better than Calicut? LOL--Do you get an extra build for that particular dot? Maybe I should check with the variant designer.
ConcordantNexus said:Hmmm... If memory serves correctly, I had converted Bidar to a build site early on in the game before a horde of monkeys riding on elephants overran my forces.
See, it's little know-it-all comments like that that make me jumpy!
Besides, as someone so graciously (or is that cunningly?) suggested, there's no guarantee that you would have supported me into Calicut once you had Pulicat.
Lastly, I keep getting nervous when I see how narrow my Lebensraum is, whereas Gondwana's core territory seems to have quite a bit of depth.
Anyhow, I look forward to reading your next emails and/or seeing your next moves!![]()
David E. Cohen said:Ahh, but that was before we became (or so I thought) allies. Which alliance was built upon *my* betrayal of *my* ally, Vijayanagar. I gave up an ally to come to an understanding with you. You gave up what, exactly?
And of course there was no guaranty. The geography of the boasrd, given the positions of the units, dictated the order in which the dots needed to be taken, for both Calicut and Pulicat to be taken in the same year. And you know it.
Your narrow Lebensraum will get you an overseas build on the Arabian Peninsula this year, with another to follow next year. I, on the other hand, will end up retaking Bidar, for no net gain.
ConcordantNexus said:and maybe I'm just toying with you long enough to distract you for Delhi to get off his cushions and take you from behind - speaking of being taken from behind, looking west, Persia could do with some trimming, as long as Delhi doesn't profit too much from it...
the problem with Diplomacy is that I end up double and triple thinking myself into corners...
I wonder if there's anyway to make money playing this game?
David E. Cohen said:He is rather busy elsewhere. And you are beginning to move from "distraction" to "center of attention". -[:^)
