wat ahppened to your pre surrendur air force anyway? im sure you had a larger force during the push into germany and as long as you dont face stacks upon stacks of planes against you it is relativly rare to lose too many air units...

I had a significantly larger force during the European war. Most of it was annihilated during the final weeks of the war, as I duked it out over Spain to prevent the wide-spread destruction of infrastructure (which hindered my retreat significantly). The entire Axis airforce practically destroyed it there, as I retreated from airbattle I ran into another stack, and enough times of that left me with next to nothing. I think two interceptor and two naval bombers survived the Spain slaughter.
Only my transport aircraft survived, having been moved to the USA after Operation Overlord. Aircraft production is slow, as it takes a long time to produce aircraft. By 1961, I have quite abit more.

Peace? Not only unrealistic with the Communists as aggressors, but why would they accept peace if they are winning?

Yeah. I don't see any logical reason why they would want to go after the Soviets. They could go for India, but they would have an even harder time controlling that. And Siberia? That semi-industrialized wasteland is hardly worth the effort or the lives.

wow you need alot of help air force wise. gamey tactics need to be employed. use acceptall with the soviets to gain a bit of peace to build up the armed forces. but keep korea in the peace deal. do this right after a desicive victiry or something that would convince the soviets that peace is best.
This is something Firestorm, as he has point out, would never do.

If he was gonna, I think it would have been back when the US was nearly destroyed in Spain. This AAR has had everything!!

This AAR has had everything!!

It has not had a Democratic Victory yet. Democracy will prevail. Why? Because it is superior! But what will this world be like if...democracy does not succeed?

Democracy always wins? Not as long as this AI gets its way. :D

This AAR is simply totally awesome.

But what will this world be like if...democracy does not succeed?

Well, the citizens will have to find other hobbies besides voting.

Alot of you seem certain Germany will attack before 1964. I fear they will not.

In my (limited) late-game experience, Germany and the Soviets leave each other alone after Bitter Peace.
And then you also created Russia as a buffer state, taking away their mutual border. Perhaps the AI cannot handle that.

However, I can't really recall ever seeing all three sides still going that strong this late in the game.

From an in-universe standpoint, the war-weary European population certainly wouldn't support another world war anyway.

Please, no gamey tactics. I believe your readers would rather see you loose with dignity, then to cheat your way to victory. Cheating now would destroy the essence of this AAR.

What about justifiable RL tactics being simulated by "gamey" strategies? :eek:o You can't do land-based supersonic bombers launching ASMs at enemy fleets (ala Red Storm Rising) without using Navs, for example. Nor would having mid-sized fleets with purely fighter support and a LOT of SSMs on fast cruisers be possible to create. In any case, with near-equal technologies and a ramped-up difficulty, even some of the tactics that may be "questionable" are not going to be effective anyway.

Firestorm should ditch all considerations about "gamey" tactics and play to win, goddammit!!! The Reds and the Nazis are overrunning the world and throwing 30+ CV fleets at him, and you wonder about gameyness??

Stack those NAV bombers sky high, confuse the AI and blast it to hell!!! Get rid of the menace!!!

If he used gamey tactics, this AAR would be just one of many other USA AARs.
Great AI and difficulty made it so good (with authors skill of course). Would this AAR be less magnificent if USSR lands in CONUS and game ends with bitter defeat of democracy?

Desperate last stands are quite interesting, much more then some lame victory achieved by cheating.

As I've told Firestorm before, we at TRP consider gamey tactics acceptable to the point where they can be justified as fixing the broken piece of SH...

That HOI2 can be sometimes. Nuking stacked islands because you can't cut it off from supply? Yes please. pure-CV fleets because the enemy uses them aswell? Yes please!

But then again, it's still Firestorm's call and I think it won't matter if he wins or not, this AAR is already great

Well I never meant gamey like that, thats ok because it gives no significant advantage, only evens the odds.

I had in mind something that uses AI stupidity, like winning battle, stoping your armies from entering that province, waiting for AI to send reinforcements piecemeal, crushing every wawe of reinforcements but not entering province, and finaly destroying those retreating divisions with air power. Using this simple tactic Firestorm could anniliate entire Soviet army.
