and it is limited in gameplay. I dont remember, 30 or 40 game years.
Apart from this it should be the real thing

isnt it kinda dangerous tho? Somebody with more knowledge of the engine and that stuff might be able to remove the limitations therefor pirating the game? Id release a more limited demo ^^

I have a feeling it's easier to pirate the real deal than bother trying to "enable" the demo.

I'm personally of the opinion that a pre-release version should have been leaked with edits that put Europe in the pagan tech group and made every event the sighting of a meteor. ;)

I second your view. Pirates are gonna pirate no matter what you do. I was relieved to see that For the Glory (continuing in Paradox Interactive tradition) is being released DRM-free. DRM just makes things difficult for honest buyers like us.

e.g. Paid $65 for Dragon Age on Steam. Sat through a whole day trying to get it to validate, while someone I know just got a cracked version from the tubes (dlc, collector's items and all) and was happily playing through it.

Yeah no joke, most paradox games don't even have drm you could just zip it and upload it(which is really sad people do this to indy game companies). Its one of the reasons why I love to buy games from them, I can archive it on my file server just in case gamersgate goes out or my cd/ hard drive breaks and I don't have to ever worry about the activation servers going down.

I tried the demo, but I had a harder time then I thought getting into it, I never played EU2(mostly EU3 and the HOI series). So I am still figuring everything out to see if I want to buy it. So far it looks like a fun game, and I like that they don't have some stupid resolution limit like in hoi 1/2. Only thing I wish I could do is zoom in deeper so I can get a better view of my country.

What do you mean activation, I thought the game only had a cd checker... Another reason to just stick with indy games. They don't hate their customers.:p

PI games have zero DRM of any kind. Pirates literally upload the GG download as is.

But they weren't gonna/couldn't buy the game anyways. And those that can I suspect, end up buying the game after they find they like it.

It won't even let me play the demo. I keep on getting a black screen, I am on Windows 7. I had this problem with Universallis before I downloaded the demo off Steam, which worked perfectly?

Anyone else experience this problem? I don't hear audio, I can't ctrl-alt delete or do anything. It just freezes up so I am forced to restart.

Features:
- No saving and loading
- No multiplayer
- No console
- Game ends 30 years from the start of the scenario or on specified end date, whichever is sooner

It also runs a little faster due to some features removed IIRC.

What do you mean activation, I thought the game only had a cd checker... Another reason to just stick with indy games. They don't hate their customers.:p

It was some Steam preloading thing that had to be validated or decrypted or something. Eventually, I had to delete everything and download 8GB of stuff again (not good with the comcast 250GB cap ). I must say it was all worth it though, having a blast with the game right now.

I guess we are straying away from the topic.. So, on topic:
@jaguar8311
I have no problems running the demo on Windows 7 x64, for what it's worth. Hope you can get your problem fixed soon.. :)
