Possibility, but keep in mind that PDX have already sold >500% the number of sales they targeted for CK2. It's kinda nearing saturation, and they need to bring in new players to the fold. They do this by allowing their fans to bring in their friends with a free copy of their most approachable game.
I think it's brilliant, actually. Cunning Marketing, that doesn't fuck over their customers. EA would be shocked.
The game's coming out in less than two weeks... I don't really see the point of releasing a demo now.
So, what would you have prefer ?
A demo one month ago: Impossible, the game is not ready yet.
A demo at the launch of the game: It's what I believe
A demo after ? Why not
It doesn't change nothing if the demo will be realeased after or before the game. Really, because you can be convinced y a demo at any moment.
To preempt thousands of posts asking for a demo! Think of the dozens of cents you could save in bandwidth!
Doesn't seem silly at all. The converter isn't much of an incentive to players if they don't own CK2 at all, so it makes sense to bundle them.
Also, they are more likely to make money from CK2 DLC at this point than the base game.
Nowadays, giving people a game for free while they could make people pay for them looks silly, and good.
True, but if even 1/2 of those people buy 1/2 of the CK2 DLC, PDI are in the money.
I'd say you can expect a demo in the next two weeks. You can Expect EU4 in two weeks as well. Maybe next week.
I really don't think EU4 will come before the planned release date, a demo could though 
I thought Johan specifically said to expect it around next week friday if everything goes according to plan (near the end of last night's stream)
I'm hoping he misspoke and meant this Friday instead. Probably not, but I prefer to remain optimistic
Thats kind of pointless then whats the point of putting out a demo next friday if the game comes out four days after that.
