Hey guys, I downlowded the demo from fileplanet, and all went all wright until the game was installed. I tried entering the game, and it shows the nice images when loading, and the suddenly : AppName: hoi3.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: hoi3.exe
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00028d6d ...
Anyone has an idea of the problem, how to fix it, or a worthy download place?

Drivers are up to date. What do you mean by smoothly?
It's playable, that's true, but some 50-60& slower than HoI 2 in 1939. I understand there are now 10000 provinces and much more calculation, but i didn't expect such drop in performance.

Here is my timing. Demo installed on the same drive as Windows, i.e. C: and BullGuard AV is on, checking files:
Clicking the start icon to the in-game menu: 6:05
- Japanese pilot: 2:22
- Russians in Berlin: 4:08
- German soldier: 5:57
- Main menu: 6:05
From the Single Player->Play until in-game: 0:50

that is if you wish to transfer and merge the component brigades of divisions.
As for the tutorial it is only a small man, with a odd mustache, who paints bad paintings, has a thing about Austria, doesn't like the French much and then shoots himself in his bunker. You can immagine him to be whoever you want.

i think they overkilled the Graphics i thought they were fine in HoI 2, my comps only like 3 years old and i know it will have trouble running this. People don't buy a grand strategy game for the graphics leave that to the First Person shooters

I really dont like the Terrain Mapmode. its quite hard to distinguish between plains and hills sometimes

Problem With provinces names. There are sometimes visible sometimes not ( HD4870 ) . Long waiting doesn't seems to help.

I get this too so I suppose it's WAD. Province names take a little while to appear.

To get that many provinces on a map and still be playable is not that easy.
I've seen, if you detach a light armor division, the 3d Model which is shown now, isnt a Tank but a misc (generic) Infantry 3d Model.
And what is with the 3D Models themselfs, is there planed to gif us any software to open these files, because our Fanpage wants to build a 3d Model Team to make more cool Models...

Noticing this also, the names are not there after zooming in and out. Usually when I zoom in the name will not appear even after some time, then I move around the map a bit and "some" of them do appear. However, the ones that do appear are generally not centered where I have the screen at, but 1/2 of them are where I have the screen the rest is in some random direction.
the best thing to do is use the outliner in the top right-hand corner - it has options to display various things including the progress of all the battles going on
then you can select the battles from the outliner & get an HOI2-like battle summary

Same here, but 4GB RAM (64bit XP) and a 9600GT. No other game has any problems with this hardware, everything from Nethack to Rome Total War to Fallout 3 runs smoothly. The HOI3 demo crawls. I got through 2 weeks of gametime, then I quit.
I knew that it would be more demanding than HoI2, but this... just can't be right.
