I'm talking about local sales. That still is a major Latvian political issue now - in 2009. I know I won't be buying a game which shows that a part of our territory is controlled by the red scum BEFORE the war.

Your loss. I can't believe nationalism blocks people from buying games. The "Red scum" could occupy the entirety of your country and I would still buy it.

Suggestions:
-Auto sliders
-Combat tutorials
-Numbers of divisions or brigades at first glance without placing the mouse over the units ( I dont get what the strength map does as it seems just the same for me but with green provinces where my forces are)
-Menús and fonts too small when resolution is over 12XXvs7XX
etc..

Will retail version actually have a physical manual?

Hi,

Can't find the search feature

I'm usually for digital distribution, but for a game like this I'd really like a physical manual. Will the retail version have one? I'm just debating which version to get.

Thanks!

Military Control of Allies

Apologies if this has already been expalined, could not find a keyword search function for the forums to check...

In reading the manual, unless I missed it I see there seems to be no way to take militrary control of a country with which you have an alliance. Was that in fact removed from HOI 3 or is there some other mechanism to coordinate military action with your allies?

I don't know if this was mentioned already, but...
1-2 weeks into the game japan asks me to join their war against China. Sure why not, I accepted. I got the leadership in the war. Japan soon knocked out Guanxi, and an event came for me to annex, or puppet. Japan only got the land her troops captured, the rest came to me.
This should be fixed by: Japan doesn't ask me to join the war, or she gets the leadership in that war.
I dunno yet, but I guess this will be a problem in later wars, for example in Italy-Balkans war, etc.

When playing with Poland and sprites, many of the provinces on both sides of the Polish-Soviet border are unselectable (while zoomed in so sprites are showing). This is not the case with counters or when playing another country. Seems to have something to do with the pop-ups showing Soviet intel instead of province name.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

No, it's not my loss, if you know what I mean. Besides, I'm not the one losing the dough.

The problem with people wanting changes because of nationalistic reasons are wrong a lot of the times. I'm not saying you are but that's just the case. I'm not sure if you have played the EU games but the balkans were always reason for debate because his 'faction' would consider culture A better than B in province X.

And I don't think having a small province wrong in one of the Baltics makes that much difference in sales.

Although I agree that blatant errors (Stalingrad) should be changed on the way.

How do you guys get the military outline on the right side of the screen up? I don't see any button for it. So I can easily see my navy/army/air all at once.

Thanks in advance.

Overall amazing demo. I had some problems getting my theaters to work with me the first time I played, but after that it's been gravy. Playing as Germany.

However a few small issues.
1) I see a lot of people getting Italy into the war (and to great effect). How? My Italy never DoW'd France as far as I could tell. That border never moved (though I didn't watch it really closely).
2) I set everything to AI control except military. I seemed to have Slovakia and Japan accepting my debt on an almost weekly basis. Once they'd accepted it... wasn't that enough? Why did I get this popup so much? i'm sure I could supress it just curious why it kept happening.

The first time I played, the France AI landed in Konigsberg (sp?), and was easily pushed back. The second time, the UK AI landed in Kiel as people have mentioned. I wonder what's controlling this? Also, is it feasible to make naval theaters/commands with a general sort of "Green Water" doctrine as a focus? That is, focusing on the coast - pushing away invaders and the like?

Edit: One thing I forgot. I did wind up taking over the war with Guangxi Clique, etc. I don't think I should. I am the senior partner to Japan, sure, but... The whole surrendering to Germany vs. Japan thing is just wrong.
