Yes, you have probably already started playing it! ;)
But just to make sure, here we go:

Wanted: city planner with vision to build the ultimate urban public transport system. Apply within.

Paradox Interactive and Colossal Order Ltd has today a playable demo for their eagerly anticipated mass transportation simulator for the PC Cities in Motion, releasing on February 22nd.
Containing the tutorial mode from the game, the Cities in Motion playable demo covers one in-game year and gives players a tantalizing taste of the fun and addictive gameplay they can expect from the full release.

The demo can be downloaded from
http://www.fileplanet.com/files/210000/218762.shtml

About Cities in Motion:
Developed by Colossal Order Ltd, Cities in Motion sees players develop and operate their own public transport company building a travel network across Vienna, Berlin, Helsinki and Amsterdam using more than 30 different modes of transport including buses, trams, subway trains and water buses. As each city develops and grows the player must continue to meet the ever changing transport needs of its commuters, while at the same time ensuring it remains as profitable as possible.
Featuring an in-depth campaign mode made up of 12 scenarios along with an open ended sandbox mode, an advanced map editor that allows players to create their own cities, plus much more, Cities in Motion will challenge players to create the perfect public transport system that has no cancellations, no delays and where the passengers are always happy!

With some trick, you can mix the beta and the demo so you get some benefit from the demo and some from the beta.
I managed to play Vienna from beta with some demo elements and corrections (now I can play without crashing for instance). I don't expect it to work properly, but until I fnd a way to get a physical copy in France, I guess I'll play it this way.

I'm not sure how many "Brick-and-mortar" stores carry this kind of small titles, but I recommend ordering physical copies online from The Hut. It is UK based firm, which ships to all european countries. Cheap and fast!

With the gs extractor that you can get in almost every mod topic you extract some from demo to the beta and you transfert the .exe from the demo to the beta.
Then, for save game, you apply the mod to be able to save in the beta. And there you have mix not crashing.
You might have to extract beta gs into beta folder after doing it with the demo...

I don't recall the exact order I used and which one I extected or not. All I know is that extracting beta to demo won't make Vienna avaiable (for a reason I don't really know).
Again, this a is ugly mix that can lead to error that shouldn't be reported as it is a complet anormal way to modify the files.

For the copy, I'll find my way... I know a "Brick-and-mortar" stores that can order the game online. My problem is mostly that I don't have (and don't really want) something that allow me to buy thing online. I don't even have a card that allow me to pay at the supermarket. I like cash and with cash you can't pay online...

I was following the dev diaries for this game and before I had tried the demo I was unlikely to buy it; mostly because I was sceptical that a developer could make this concept engaging and fun.

After playing the demo, I was so impressed I pre-ordered immediately after I ran out of time. Can't wait until it releases.

I've just tried a demo of Cities in Motion and looks very promising, but the performance is... well, quite irritating I'd say. Sure, I've got rather slow machine: single-core Athlon 64 @ 2,6 GHz, with 3,5 GB of RAM and integrated Radeon X1200 (512 MB assigned).
I'm going to buy Radeon 5450, but doubt if the game will become playable. Seeing official requirements I don't think they are justified for such game. I turned most of graphics fireworks off leaving only shadows at low level and resolution at 1280x1024@32 bits and it's hard to achieve 10 FPS. I understand, that my integrated graphics is old (although not so bad for many games), but if 5450 is not enough to play on low details with 1280x1024@32 achieving 20-25 FPS, then it will be bad :)
I hope You do optimize this game a bit or at least add some options to reduce quality except video modes.

If you are buying that graphics card anyway, I would suggest running the demo again to see how it works. And if you do, I would love to hear how it went!

If I buy this card, I will do this definitely :)
One suggestion - I tried windowed mode at 1024x768 with result of dark screen except an "advertisement" at the begining, so I think it would be good to add a standalone launcher where we can change (especially graphics) options, because now I'm forced to reinstall the game or seek system registry.

Looking at your webpage http://www.citiesinmotion.com/media there are links to game guides. Clicking on them says they are not available to unregistered users, meanwhile I see nowhere an option to register.

Oh well, I'll find something else to do while downloading the demo :)

Well, if you are patient... ;) ("Cet article paraîtra le 17 mars 2011")

http://www.amazon.fr/Focus-Cities-in-motion/dp/B004MKNKM4/

Though it might be that there are no payment method available to you if you don't fancy using a credit card...

Edit: Can you bribe anyone to get you a gift certificate to Amazon.fr (if you can't get the game anywhere earlier) ;) Or pay someone in cash and they'll in turn get you a gift certificate with their debit/credit card. Also, looks like there is no option on Amazon to pay directly with your Internet banking services/bankgiro giro transfer.

Hey, I downloaded the demo yesterday, and boy, do I love it. I almost cried when I realised I finally can build a subway system that's functional and even nice to look at. Ordered the game today, I guess it wouldn't be possible to include an option in the demo that let's you play indefinitely when you enter a purchase code or something? Well, it's probably asking too much and I guess I would deem it unreasonable if I already had my copy, but I played the demo 5 times already and I want to play pretty badly. :D Shame I missed the beta.
