Hey all,

Last night I played a little bit Austria, for about one hour. My first impressions are:

- By default A LOT OF POP-UPS! Not really something negative.
- Great rework in PU's etc. Does seems to be a bit too easy though to inherit someone.
- HRE system is very nice. Though I cant see what a imperial decision will imply before I enforce it. This really should be in a tooltip saying: ''all members get -1 diplomates and the emperor +1'
- How is papal influence calculated? It says good relations with the pope, but what does it intail?
- Give me one reason to not let someone into the HRE empire when that decision comes before the reformation. Though it is great you have a choice.
- Bloody combat! But that is nice :) Gives more tactical options.

- trade stations: Venice made one in Vlaanderen. How can I influence that? What if I don't want one? More importantly: what if I do want one?

all-in-all: a really great expansion I have absolutly no regrets of pre-ordening it. It gives tremendous amounts of depth to an already really deep game. Very nice work Johan and co-workers!

Too much inheritance going round, too much trade league spam. That's all!
just disable those pop ups, not to hard

tried playing england for 20 years, was a tad easy, gave up calais in the first war, then attacked scotland to vassal them, and since france was allied with them...they gave calais back after some time in blockade, then i went to the new world and anexed swane in one go (on a colonial cb)

Yeah i am alright with that; more for france it is salic succession, so not possible for other country to inherit france...don't it be possible for other countries to cha,ge succession laws?

The spanish succession war has heppenned becaus' the spain king didn't want union with france

The empire of karl 5 has been divided by himself, but it's not easy to make in HTTT realeased coutnries are vassals, a realeaed option with free country must be added, n for the ai force them to realeased free it's not easy with an spain france blob...

The other point is the french power...like in previous version It's too much it can push down spain in only three month, fighting with the emperor on the east winning the 2 war... historically possible yeah, but not all the time...

About trade league:
IRL, england has made a lot of trade agreement with other countries... so i don't understand this limit...Merchant republic especially venice is too powerfull

Well if this is corrected the game will be the best game i ever seen

Resume:
-Possibility to change succession law
-limited the inheritance possibility( i was not so frequent)
-limited merchant republic advantage( not the onlyone to get trade league)
-increase the possiblilities to get some trading goods and put down the posiibilty to get a country inside trade league
-Increase RR in non province core with the infamy
-limited french power...

Personally, I think that inheritance should be possible only when you're already in Personal Union or if inherited country is much weaker than your country (something like spheres of influence). It would limit those big blobs (France + Spain). Just a thought. :)

Yeah, that would be great if inheritance would be limited to countries in SoI and with much lower power/prestige.

I played with France (and had fun putting a Valois in every kingdom), and started to inherit, by force or luck, Brittany, Savoy and anyone else I wanted; I claimed too many thrones so in the end I was ganged by all the countries I was a Senior partner in PU with plus all the HRE, so I must say the AI vastly improved from its predecessors, as it actually stays out from dangerous wars and at the same time often knows when it's the golden opportunity to act.

I played with Venice, successfully becoming by far the most wealthy Merchant Republic within 4 years (the pop-ups are a bit annoying if you play a merc. rep., because you often have to read them all to play properly, but I guess they are useful just if you play such form of government and can ignore/disable them all while playing a monarchy). It seemed to me that you can become the best trader either increasing the value of your CoT by trade diplomatic actions, going straightly free trade with right NIs and decisions, or just weakening your rivals; however I expect a human opponent would be much tougher, no matter how much it's improved, it's still an AI. When I saw the trade was mine, I took too much infamy with expansion and was Dowed by Austria, where I could exploit the 'annul treaties' to lower my losses (that should be carefully playtested, as no matter the nation and no matter which treaties you have, it's still the same amount).

I played with Austria, where I formed the HRE, easily gaining imperial authority (too easily! Especially when the Protestants and Reformed branched out, and remaining Catholic and force-converting minors gave me not just an authority boost, but also the benefits of being in the good side of the Pope) and basically killed everyone knocking to my door with a single 8 cav/15 inf stack general after I released as allied vassals all the dutch minor I could. I can confirm the bug while forming the HRE others reported.

First big impressions: overall much fun, much improvement; once I learned the system, I look forward to engage in MP warfare. The new CB system is really beautiful, historically accurate and fun to play (there are some ways to exploit it every now and then however). The Dynasties system is enriching the game almost how it's fun to play and use. The AI greatly improved, especially in war and diplomacy, and infamy is no more an option (I appreciated particularly the fact vassalizing gives HIGH infamy). Imho, thumbs up :D!

This one sort of makes sense, but probably shouldn't go firing during a regency council.

This can't be right? My heir was underage and got a regency. Then I got the event that he was ill. He died. So I have a regency, no legal heir and that's it. It's been a few months now and still nothing has changed...

Releasing HRE minors gives you 10% Imperial authority. For instance, as Austria: I released all the minors in the Netherlands and passed 2 reforms. Got into a war with Denmark and got another 5, inherited Bar and released it, got another 10. I could have released Tirol and Styria but chose not to. Still alot of blanks to fill, even with Austria. His BB score tells me he had aggressive encounters with somebody, so count that in too.

I started the demo and within the first month Austria inherited Scotland. There needs to be more circumstances in place for that kind of inheritance to happen.
