Alrighty,

I must really suck ass at this game. I've played Majesty when it first was released and I was extremely excited for this and still am. However, because I'm playing the Russian Demo and do not speak russian...I'm doing quite horrible.

I've seen people talk about building monks, dwarfs, etc, but I don't know the proper prerequisite in order to unlock these buildings and their upgrades. How do I upgrade warriors further?

I got to day 70 with just warriors, clerics, assassins, and wizzards (all around level 12-20), but once the vampires started popping up in the top right and the bears on the right...it became impossible for me to defend.

So, any information reguarding prerequisites for building and hero upgrades would be great.

Here's a basic strategy for the mission, remember speed is of the essence. Do not build wizards - they are simply useless for this mission.

1. Build cleric and warrior guild up on the east side of your town, build a market north of them, get healing potions
2. hire 3 of each, flag the ancient graveyard just north of your castle with 200 gold.
3. get rogues guild up too, fill it, flag the graveyard just west of your castle with 200 gold.
4. research mana potions. wait for your heroes to get healing potions
5. get 3 rangers. flag the two lairs to the west and northwest of your starting position.
6. ogres should attack now, flag one of them with 500 gold and watch the massacre.
7. don't resurrect any lost hero yet. build a blacksmith and get tier one gear ups.
8. explore flag just south of your location near the trading post to reveal an ogre nest, KO it.
9. explore flag on the southwest corner of the map. you will find 3 additional ogre nests. destroy them too.
10. flag ogre counterattack, eliminate it.
11. flag northeast of your position to reveal a trading site and some graveyards, flag them all for 300-500 gold and destroy them, put up a trading post and a guard tower, and flag the post for 500 gp defense, it should be built with no incident.
12. Tech up to tier 3 while counterattacking all lairs you can find. you might want to flag the uberbear (east) and vampire(north) with a large reward to get your entire team to go after them.
13. Get guild upgrades, you need fully upgraded rogues to stun the bears, and fully upgraded warrior to tank them. fully upgraded cleric helps too. Tier 2 gear is important, Tier 3 is optional.
14. get a temple of krypta or Elven building up by day 40. bears should be starting to spawn on the west side of the map, flag any of them you see with 500-1000. Do not let them stack and tank them away from the town. if they get into the town it's gg. flag the vampires coming from the west too, the key here is dps them down one at a time before they can stack up against you, and for that you need a lot of DPS in the form of elves or Priestess of Krypta. Wizards are, as I said, useless :D

I am currently working on a Dwarf/Agrela strategy. Which means I might just waste next three hour. The elf/Krypta strategy worked fine twice.

This mission is no laughing matter. it took me about 6 hours and many, many tries to solve it without having half my town burnt down.

Here's another walkthruh by me form another topic. It's not so well-edited than Nerfish's one but you can use this one too.

Build 2 towers at the beginning to the bottom of your base against ogres and put an attack flag on their dens one by one as soon as possible, and build 1to the top-left next to the dragon den and if you have money then one to the top next to the grave.
Then upgrade to level 2 castle, build a level 2 blacksmith (second one in the second building menu), a dwarven fortress (the last building on the guild panel) and then you'll be able to build dwarven towers (last building on the defensive structure panel). Build 2 on the left side against bearmen.
If you have enough money, build 1 more against ogres to the bottom if it's needed or on the right side because some bearmen will come from there too.
Instantly put attack flag on vampires (they come mostly from east and northeast) if you recognize them.
Heroes: monks are the most important at the beginning I think, but you should come out with all starting units as fast as possible, because the invasion won't let them levelup after some time (too many and too strong monsters). You can recruit elves and dwarves at any time, coz they are nearly unbeatable on this map. I didn't use priests because it costs 4000(base upgrade to tier3)+3000(the temple itself) which is extremely much on this map. And a level 1 priest costs 1000 gold and my level 16 priest needed 3000+ gold to upgrade.
But if you want to build one I suggest Agrela (the second one) and upgrade resurrection as soon as possible.
Forming parties helps but it's not a musthave.

Sidenote:
It is important to upgrade heal in the temple as soon as possible and heal the expensive-to-resurrect heroes.
Resurrection prices are:
warrior: 200+(level-1)*100 so a level 2-3+ warrior should be healed
rogue: 100+(level-1)*50 so a level 5-6+ rogue should be healed
ranger: 150+(level-1)*75 so a level 3-4+ ranger should be healed
Every other heroes must be healed from level 1 coz they are more expensive to resurrect.

edit:
try to upgrade heroes and guilds but I think that upgrading blacksmith is more important. Try to get all level 2 upgrades. But the most important is that you must stop ogres from south and jou must have the towers up before too many bearmen come (day ~65) if you can do these you will win I think. And of course this is only one strategy and there can be other ones

edit2:
ahh and the most important: build a marketplace (the first one in the second building menu) and upgrade healing pots at the beginning of the game.

Ive been trying to do that but havent found out how yet, as i dont speak russian sadly :)

How do you form a party?

You must build a tavern. Sadly at work I can't play Majesty so I can't tell you which one is that. If I remember well then it's on the second panel and it costs 400 gold (maybe the third or the forth one in that panel).
There you must upgrade it to level 2 first (it needs a level 2 castle) then you can upgrade there the party forming (the only one upgrade in the building).
Then there will be only 1 icon on its panel and when you push that a new window will popup. The upper part of it heroes in the tavern interesting in partying will be shown. You must wait some time to heroes come in the tavern. The heroes goming in the tavern are highligted in the hero panel. You must click on them and at the bottom you will see the party itself. Then you must clck on the green button if I remember well.

I found out they grow rather strong after level 8-9. Of course it isn't that easy to keep them safe until then.

Parties for the demo quest.

Wizard / Elf party are some of the best solution against da bearz actually. The bear have 100 melee resist, but only 20 ranged resist and 50 magic resist. Wizard and Elf don't lose a lot of DPS against it. Beside, wizard-elf party stunlocks any single target, and is speedy as hack.

The hard part is actually getting a party of wizard and elves. the party system will do its darn best to make sure your kingdom is overrun while you try to form any useful party.

Here are my teams for this quest.
Party 1: Warriors and Clerics, their job is tanking, and they can pretty much permanently tank any monster in this quest. (I shudder to think what kind of DPS it would take to break paladin and Agrela)
Party 2: Elf and Wizards, This team kills bears. They are fast enough to run from one side of town to the other before the bears break the tank of team 1. And have spare time to buy stuff.
Party 3: Priestess and Rogues, This team hunt vampires. Vampires has pathetic melee resistance, a lot of skeletons and rogues can take them out fast.

It takes 40 days to prepare those teams, and many thousand gold in resurrection. But they work splendidly.
Oh, Priestess of Agrela and pathetic, I could not have them join a party for full ten days. by the time they did, the time limit was over.

I tried twice, got to day 53.
Honestly, I didn't try too hard because that's not what I expect from this game. The beauty of majesty is that contrary to most RTS, the pace is rather slow and laid back. I don't want a hectic RTS where I can't afford to sit back for a minute. "Stronghold" is my favourite game in this genre.

Can anyone tell me if the full version will feature many of these missions? If they remain single missions it's okay. Just don't want them in the campaign.

The campaign will contain 3 different difficulty level. One of them will contains very easy maps, there you can learn how to play. As I said before, I think that this is not the best choice for a demo. This map is hard to a newcomer and he or she can be disappointed because of this. There should be a map with easy conditions and peaceful gameplay in the demo to give newcomers time to explore the game and developers could lock some upgrades/units/features to keep them for the full release only.
However Majesty 1 (especially its Northern Expansion) is one of the hardest games I've ever played, so be prepared for hard challenges. But you can get used to the hardness of the game step by step. There will be maps from extremely easy to extremely hard I think.

as a casual player i though it was too hard... i dont want to spend 5 hours creating strategies i just want to play and breathe at the same time

im wondering if the entire game will be like this...

I am sure that it won't. There will be some very hard level I think (even harder that this one) but there won't be all that hard. But we have here some review build owners, probably they'll answer you :)

You don't have to worry mazucaaa, I have played 8 chapters of the campaign so far and only had a lot of difficulty with one of those and then only with the early part. I had a lot of difficulty getting into this game however, in fact, I left it aside for a week after my first go. Gave it another shot and now I love it a lot.

The three Survival missions available in 'Single Mission' are probably some of the hardest missions within Majesty 2. There are certaintly missions in the Campaign and Single Mission modes which are easier to complete and not quite so hectic. So need to worry about spending five hours to create a strategy for each mission, besides I will be writing up some strategy guides once Elpea finishes coding the Majesty Heaven website (=/) so they can be uploaded to the website.
