Here's my problem. My king is not of age so i've got a regent and i can't marry yet. Because i'm too young, i can only have 7 counties in my demesne (while my last king had 11). I usually educate my heirs to have as much diplomacy as possible and marry someone with high stewardship. I can't marry for another 4 years and my demesne is too big. Is there a way to give land but get it back i a couple of years? I could try to find someone old with no heirs, Is there some other way to do this?

I suffered through the same problem with a minor, no way to improve stewardship. Luckily I had one territory with a "3" in Legalism technology. I moved my capital there and increased my demesne. A word of caution, you can only do this once per ruler's lifetime.

There was another time I gave a county to my younger brother due to demesne. He revolted and I won and locked him up. Later when my stewardship skill increased I revoked it from him. This worked but I kept him in prison for like 5 years, if he'd died his son would have inherited and I would have missed my chance to get it back.

There is likely some scenario whereby you can give it to an elderly person who you'll inherit from but I haven't run into that yet.

If you hand out land in your primary duchy, you can revoke it via plot later (assuming your idiot guardian doesn't give you content). Be aware this is not going to make the person happy. You can do the same by giving land to dukes that is outside their primary duchies (but, again relations hit).

Outside of that giving it to old, unmarried, poxy people can work (when they die, you inherit it back). Be amazed at how often 70 year old celibate people manage to have kids though.

I gave the counties to two old single men. Only problem, as soon as they became counts, they both married to 20something women. I should have married both of them to old women before giving them land. Doesn't matter, the oldest one died not long after i became of age, the other had to be helped.....
