I think there should be an option for nations that control "disputed" territory to just give it away to the country that wants it - even if they don't actually make a formal demand.

This issue arose in my game. Playing the UK, Germany was crumbling, and my forces and the USSR were basically racing to dismember Germany and Italy before the other could. Anyhoo, Germany ended up surrendering before I could take all of the "main" part of Denmark, and the Soviets took that little island in the Baltic.

When Germany surrendered, Denmark returned to power, but only controlling that one northernmost province. I wanted to just give the rest of Denmark to them, but:

1. We weren't allied, so I couldn't.
2. Even if we *were* allied (which I cheated to do), I couldn't give them the Denmark provinces, because they're "national territory" (even though they're national territory *of* the recipient!)
3. The territory was rightly marked as being under "territorial dispute", but for whatever reason, the Danes never made a demand.

Anyhow, something to allow a "unilateral giveback" (and presumably with a nice bonus to relations) would be nice.

Partition Treaty

I think this is under the same thread.

I was also playing and as USA I wanted to divide up former-Japanese Empire with my allies. I did it manually, but I wanted it to be a part of the game. It was not easy manually, so I do know it will cause some discomfort, but the idea is the same as above statement wanted.

If we control ex-enemy provinces and want to share the spoils, u can't now within the game.

Japan had already surrendered to the Allied and Comintern joint venture. (I cheated by allowing Soviet to declare war on Japan. Japan threw in the towel then.)

Partitioning should be part of the diplomacy screen under Partition (eg. once the enemy has surrendered). Only allies should be receivers and partitioners, in my case I wanted areas for Australia, UK, Fr and I even gave Sov a piece of the pie. (But this is not needed, only allow to give to allies in partition.)

Otherwise Allies (Head) and Comintern (Head) can make own partition agreement only.

Instead of allowing free-states to return to the map and risk non-loyal governments, I was forced to give provincial ownership and control over to my allies before it worked. That is one reward for being an ally is to share the wealth. (Not so now in HOI2.)

Make the interface similar to demand territory at Sue for Peace, but allow all provinces under your control to be given to another ally. All rights of mil. access and etc be given to the ally and previous controller (me) of the country. At least until I pull my troops out.

Japan still was a puppet to USA until I gave then liberation. This restored Japan to their size before imperialism politics. (Only fair, but returned japan's old empire to my allies and not to independent countries.)

I had the same problem while whiping the axis out of europe in 1942 as soviet. The allies didn't put up any action on the continent, so i rushed through to the french atlantic coast. germany surrendered by event, i choose a new order and the DDR was founded. the other countries were allready puppets of mine. but france wasn't given any territory, so i have some partisan f**ked up provinces north of vichy which i can't make a puppet.
